would this be enough money savings (and better role players) for Lakers to get a 1st pick swap (an outright first likely impossible)? Maybe some seconds to sell back to them later too.
Jalen Smith appears to have some fans in the #Lakers organization as they look to add depth at the center position. lakersnation.com/lakers-rumor...
I don't know if Scotto is just inferring or if that's sourced information of Bryson Graham's thinking, but any trade (including Mathurin) should be about improving roster and asset base, not about "stay out of the relegation zone" www.blogabull.com/p/dont-sweat...

From yesterday: there's rebuilding team moves where tanking is no longer an option. "staying out of the bottom three" shouldn't be a motivation either open.substack.com/pub/blogabul...

I have been keeping up with these roster snapshots just haven't posted screenshots lately. Here's the new-look Sixers
random trade idea simply because I just like helping teams out there (puts on 'NBA' league logo baseball hat) Nikola Jovic for Malik Monk
Inconsequential but hilarious that Shams shouted out Rich Paul's podcast
BREAKING: LeBron James is signing with the Philadelphia 76ers on a two-year, $8 million deal with a player option, Klutch Sports Group and Klutch CEO and Game Over show host Rich Paul tells ESPN.

New post UP at BlogABull - I recognize I'm dishonoring the sanctity of Summer League by posting this before the 'season' is over, BUT: www.blogabull.com/p/what-the-s...

Interesting to consider where the Bulls fit in on this. They are obviously a big market, but their RSN is such a Reinsdorfian cheap shitshow it can't be doing too well
Caleb Wilson's three-point rate at UNC: 9% Caleb Wilson's three-point rate in summer league: 47% 3Pr is the stat that translates best from SL to regular season, per Owen Phillips. I'm convinced Caleb is going to shoot a lot of threes as a rookie, and probably shoot them well.
our favorite newsbreaker blatantly providing cover fire for Klutch: "Shams Charania said this week during an appearance on the Shump Street with Iman Shumpert podcast that another team was “poking around” a possible sign-and-trade for Trent at “around the same number.”"
posted regarding GarPax legacy hires complaining that Arturas Karnisovas didn't listen to them enough. Maybe a single positive attribute of AK is that he failed his own (bad) way instead of listening to recent failure John Paxson. Hope Bryson Graham continues this! www.blogabull.com/p/the-now-th...

Not a great start for Noa Essengue's pretty-much-rookie season. I suppose a benefit of having the Head Coach do Summer League is that he can 'motivate' directly
good! and I don't even mind keeping some of the older coaches now if it is not precluding new hires still would like to see front office purge of GarPax acolytes, but I'm assuming that's not happening with Paxson himself as shadow president
Sources: The Chicago Bulls will add Rex Kalamian, Jonah Herscu, and Blake Ahearn as assistant coaches.
weird roster, 16 spots and haven't yet done a follow-up to what they got for Giannis. Currently not a single drafted player (though AJ Green is functionally the same, undrafted FA)
Milwaukee Bucks salary cap after re-signing Gary Trent Jr. & Pete Nance. They use up a good chunk of their tax flexibility and project to be just $11 million under the luxury tax if Trent gets standard raises. They've also got a roster crunch with 16 guaranteed contracts.
Dillingham is clearly not a Bryson Graham 'target', probably just around for expiring salary matching (not that they especially need it)
Watching the opener, I came away thinking Rob Dillingham might've benefited from Summer League more than I initially thought. The Bulls could've used another organizer offensively, and those would've been meaningful reps for a young point guard.
Liked what I saw out of Noa Essengue. Four blocks, two steals, two offensive rebounds, only one turnover. He's going to challenge a lot of shots with his length, and looks confident driving with his strong hand. Also continues to be a foul magnet. Gotta start making free throws.
Caleb Wilson was 7-of-11 from 3 in his Summer League debut for the Bulls. He was 7-of-27 in 24 games for North Carolina.
