@quinnypig.com have yall ever done any posts on how horribly broken AWS Route53 domains/registrar is? AWS appears to know it’s broken - they allow people without support contracts to file tech tickets for it. It constantly breaks in surprising ways (DNSSEC updating is currently down), …

@free.law When I view the PACER docket for 2nd Appelate 25-2079 (Soroban v IRS) the docket doesn't get updated on courtlistener nor do entries get uploaded when I view them. RECAP 2.8.6 on on FF 140.7.0esr. Maybe cause the case was merged with another?

Anyone have any idea when/if @radicle.xyz will support having a simple web ui to allow contributors who don't want to use the CLI to at least open/comment on an issue? That (+moderation) seems like the biggest blocker to larger-scale adoption.

“The reason SPAs became the default wasn’t because they were better. It was because, for a while, they were the only way to deliver something that felt fluid – something that didn’t flash white between pages or jank the scroll position.” www.jonoalderson.com/conjecture/i...

It's time for modern CSS to kill the SPA

Native CSS transitions have quietly killed the strongest argument for client-side routing. Yet people keep building terrible apps instead of performant websites.

When my wife’s home: damn, this girl rolls around too much, keeps waking me up, I need my own bed to get some real sleep. When my wife’s traveling: what even is sleep? Is it even physically possible to sleep alone in a bed?

@free.law according to your website, PACER is free at a “courthouse public access terminal”. Do such things exist which would allow someone to plug in an external hard drive and run some scraping code? Asking for a friend.

It’s weird that society is now at a point where we can pick (some) traits for our kids (including biasing towards height/attractiveness/intelligence!) but we’re not bothering to talk about it.

"Mayor Eric Adams gathered his top commissioners and officials early Monday to give marching orders under the new administration: don’t criticize President Trump, don’t interfere with immigration enforcement and trust the mayor", @katiehonan.bsky.social reports.

Mayor Adams to Top Commissioners: Don’t Criticize Trump, Don’t Interfere with Immigration Enforcement

After weeks of confusing messaging on ICE raids, the mayor ordered his staff to stifle criticism of the feds and that he alone will make sure NYC doesn’t lose funding.

This Politico story from last October shows how easy it is to launder lies through the press. It claimed Trump would ban anyone tied to Project 2025 from a job in a second Trump administration. “Clearly people working on Project 2025 are blacklisted,” said an unidentified Trump insider. 1/4🧵

Trump team preps list of banned staffers

The names include conservatives linked to Project 2025 and Republicans viewed as disloyal to the former president.

When wanna-be dictators are dancing on USAID’s grave because they hated that it funded independent media in their countries, maybe that’s a good indication it was doing good work.
