A juvenile Bullfinch sitting on a bare, lichen covered, tree top. The bird is right of frame on a horizontal branch with two vertical branches in front of its head. Its left side is showing. It’s head is a reddish brown, with no black cap seen in the adults, this colouration continues down its shoulders and chest, turning to a whitish colour as it’s gets to the rump and underbelly. The bird’s feathers have a downy texture giving it a fluffy appearance.
A single, upright, willow stem is behind the bird, giving some fresh green colour. The background is a bright white sky.

A Black-tailed Godwit stands in shallow blue water, its long, straight, slightly upturned pink-and-black bill pointing to the left. Its warm brown, intricately patterned plumage contrasts with its pale belly, while its long dark legs create gentle ripples around its feet. The calm water provides a striking, almost mirror-like reflection of the bird, stretching down beneath it and adding a lovely sense of symmetry to the photograph.

Interesting facts: Black-tailed Godwits are remarkable long-distance migrants, with some travelling thousands of kilometres between their breeding and wintering grounds. Their exceptionally long bills are perfectly adapted for probing deep into mud and soft ground for worms, insects and other invertebrates. They also have a distinctive black-and-white tail pattern, which gives them their name. In the UK and Ireland, they are particularly associated with wetlands, estuaries and coastal mudflats.

Two Sanderlings are captured in a lively moment over shallow coastal water. One bird is airborne with its wings fully spread, lifting away from the surface, while the second chases closely behind, wings raised as it skims across the water. Monty Moorhen was running for his life after spending the night with a married lady friend, sadly for Monty her other half is built like the Terminator.
So you can see why Monty is moving like the clappers, but the only bad thing for Monty was that he doesn't like running.
Because when Monty was at school doing the cross country he used to hide in the woods and then rejoin when everyone else was on the way back.
Let's just hope that Monty made it to safety and lives to make another date.

Caren Crane was out for a walk with the family when she realised that she had left the oven on, so instead of running back home herself to rectify her mistake she made Colin Crane do it for her.
And because they were only just starting out in married life together Colin didn't have the sense to tell her to do it herself, although we all know that could have ended badly for Colin too.
So Colin probably chose the right option to keep his marriage in tact to make it to their 1 year Anniversary, but it does mean he will have these types of things sent his way forever now that Caren knows she has him wrapped around her feet.

Gregory Goosander was moving so fast his feet were almost overtaking him, but he needed to be swift to get out of the way of Colin Coot who he had asked 'Was She Pregnant' (thanks Mick), without realising it was a male Coot.
And we all know how fiery Coots can be when they think they have been wronged, for those who haven't seen ithappen, they come out fighting with the large feet in attack mode.
And as you can see Gregory isn't waiting around to see how big their feet really are, so he is off to find himself another patch of water where life is much easier and laid back.

Well it will be if he keeps his beak shut 😂

Marcy Mute Swan was running from the angry shopkeeper, who had caught her helping herself to some empty bottles from the shop's back yard.
Now you may ask yourself, why was she taking some empty bottles and why was the shopkeeper angry about it.
And this was because she had only just returned these bottles for her refund on them, and collected her bounty of Swan Pellets which you received when you returned the bottles.
Which meant Marcy was taking the empties the shops yard to return them again at a later date, meaning she would get a double bounty of Swan Pellets for the same bottles.
This was cheeky of Marcy to do it but you can't blame a girl for trying, and only the older ones amongst you will remember being able to get refunds on your empty bottles.

A Little Egret coming in to land on a lush green field, its brilliant white wings fully spread and its long black leg extended forward, with yellow-green feet reaching towards the ground. Its slender black bill points ahead and its alert eye is clearly visible. Sunlight illuminates the delicate wing feathers, while the softly blurred green grass and sparkling highlights in the background add a fresh, vibrant feel to the scene.
