Good morning all. For today's #BirdOfTheDay theme I've chosen #FabulousWaders Any wading bird that you love! For me it's the Avocet, a calm and graceful beauty wading along the shoreline! 🤍🪶 The Alt. theme is #Speckled any bird with speckled patterns on its plumage. 📷 #birds #photography #ECK

A close up photograph showing the head and upper body of an Avocet wading bird. It is seen in side profile appearing from the left as viewed with a predominantly white body, black feather patches on its wings, back of its neck and the top of the Avocets head. It has a thin black bill that curves sharply upward towards the end. It is leaning slightly forward looking down having lifted its head from hunting for food along the mudflats at low tide. Taken on a sunny bright early morning, the background is a dark golden brown in colour from the muddy water and reflecting sunlight giving it a slight shimmer. Seen on the North East coast, UK

Another lifer for me! This massive Regal Horned Lizard happened to be on the road right at sunset. This was definitely one of my top lizard species to find in Arizona after failing to do so last year, and what an unexpected way to come across one. #herps 🦎

A picture of a Regal Horned Lizard on the road. This lizard is very wide and flat, mostly yellow with their characteristic "crown" of horns on the back of the head.

Avocets are one of my favorites, too, especially in their beautiful breeding plumage. Here is an American Avocet in all its glory. #BirdOfTheDay #FabulousWaders #birds #birding

An Amercan Avocet, a large shorebird with light blue legs, black and white pied wings and back, a rich brown head and neck, and long slightly upcurved bill, is standing in ripped water that reflects some blue from the sky.

Was walking in the mangroves in Grenada a few years ago and caught a glimpse of this juvenile LBH behind deep cover, took a few obstructed pics but couldn't find a clear shot, but when I got home realized it actually came out moody and cool framed by the bushes #fabulouswaders #birdoftheday #birds
