Furry, destiny 2 player, megaman enjoyer. 18+ 🔞 MINORS DO NOT INTERACT

It's still a little unclear exactly what happened but it seems like several members of the committee stayed out of the room on purpose in order to sink the vote on SCREEN ACT (without having to go on the record voting against the save the children bill) master classes in bravery we're seeing here

We @fightforthefuture.org and our growing coalition have been beating back these misguided "protect the children" internet censorship and surveillance bills for literally 10+ years. We're good at it! And we can keep doing it. But to really win on this, we have to radically shift the narrative

The SCREEN Act just failed to pass in the Senate Commerce Committee! 🎉 Enormous thanks to the thousands (!!) of you who told your Senators to vote no! Your voice matters and you should feel good that you made a difference. Obviously, the fight isn't over, but this was an important victory.

In the end, it's really good that the SCREEN ACT didn't advance. In a lot of ways that was a more real threat than KOSA, which has been mired in controversy for years and is almost certainly going to die in conference between the House and Senate. But also: we're playing whack-o-mole

To be clear, the Senate version of KOSA passed today is completely different than the House version that passed earlier this year, making it very unlikely to become law. The Senate knows this yet they are committing to the farce of acting on kids safety.

The image features a vibrant red background with a quotation prominently displayed in white and bold black text. The quote is attributed to Sarah Philips, the Campaign Director for "Fight for the Future." The text discusses the inadequacies of Congress in regulating Big Tech companies and emphasizes the need for meaningful action rather than superficial proposals. Below the quote, there is a rounded photograph of Sarah Philips, who has long, dark hair and is smiling, wearing a black shirt. The design includes playful elements such as a heart icon and a stylized signature underneath the photograph, adding an engaging and impactful look to the overall message about political accountability.

Saw a post saying "I don't want NSFW accounts to talk about voting, just let me jack off" Buddy, NSFW artists and sex workers are being constantly attacked by a government of nonces trying to distract from their own crimes by pinning the blame on porn. They have the right to speak up about this.

If SCREEN were to pass, you'd be required to scan your face and upload an ID to access this site because it allows "harmful" material. This affects you even if you don't care about sex work or porn.

Mike Lee's SCREEN Act, which heads to Senate Commerce Committee for markup on Wednesday, would expand age verification requirements to a nearly limitless scope of websites, and is supported by the architects of Project 2025.

We all agree children need to be protected from exposure to obscenity and predators. The problem comes in the definition of what "obscenity" and a "predator" is. They think it's anyone pro-LGBTQIA+. They want to "protect" children from exposure TO US. They want to classify our lives as "obscene".
