"I need some trigonometry to calculate the height of that radio tower" "Do you have enough tokens? Great. Fulfill his need, Astra" "I have calculated the height with eight-dimensional sphere-packing. Would you like a slightly more accurate answer using topological set-theory"

Just a bump on this, my story "Ethics after the end of the world" is out now. If you like your apocalypse quiet, or you ever ate at Mookie noodles in Durban, you might like this.

My story "Ethics after the End of the World" is out today via @zamashort.com! "Before I left, I lay on our bed and breathed deep, smelling her, trying to hold what I could of her to take with me. I then walked to an Exit Point, up the gangway into the pitch-black nothingness and into the Outside."

I just read this! It's a fantastic story that is, in part, about knowing there's a creator of the world and choosing to want nothing to do with them, and what it means to love someone who wants different. Very much recommend!

ZamaShort #16 'Ethics after the End of the World' by Blaize M. Kaye @bomoko.bsky.social What if you suddenly knew the true purpose of life. A touching tale and exploration of a mathematician and philosopher faced with the ultimate truth of reality. #AfricanSFF #Africanfuturism #booksky 🪐📚💙

The site says "Science Fiction Weekly is a community effort to bring that archive back — with author consent — and to keep the form alive with new work on a regular cadence." Err ... I'd like to know their working definition of "consent", because to me this feels more like "imma steal your shit".

Hey! If you were published at Daily Science Fiction, be aware that a site called Science Fiction Weekly has stolen the entire story database & posted it on their site. All of my DSF stories are there without my permission. sciencefictionweekly.com

Coming soon from @zamashort.com - I'm stoked for this one. @ivorhartmann.bsky.social is a great editor, I'm really honored to got to work with him on this.

I'm not going to do the Goodreads annual challenge again. It gives me too much anxiety and makes me competitive in a way I hate. I read essays, short stories, and textbooks mostly. I'm not reading many books these days, but I'm reading more than ever.

Wow! DOOM was selected by The Washington Post as one of the 25 Most Influential Works of American Culture! The only videogame on there! So awesome. Proud of id's legacy & the games we worked on. Congrats to @theromero @adriancarmackartist and @john.carmack. Thanks to @genepark and @washingtonpost.

Bastani's "Fully Automated Luxury Communism" is like a genre unto itself. Also, wasn't expecting Peter Drucker to make an appearance in the early chapters, but there you have it. Wild ride.

This is going to be very, very good. Over the last few months I've read basically everything Rinkema has written (or, at least, that's linked on her webpage). Stunning vision, deeply smart. This is an instabuy for me.

I've cried a lot of happy tears in the past 24 hours. This is my first collection, and I'm thrilled to be working w/ @mczyzniejewski.bsky.social & @mooncitypress.bsky.social to bring it alive. I'm so so grateful to this whole flash community. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this opportunity! ❤️

One of the things I had always hoped to do was more Formal Logic. I studied philosophy AND logic in my undergrad, and when I did it, there was substantial overlap with the CS department. There's basically no evidence that this was my actual major other than old transcripts though

transcript screenshot showing major being "Philosophy and Logic", listing several courses.
