I love curated “Best-Of” SFF anthologies. There's something about someone collecting stories & saying, “Here, you should read these. Sadly there are fewer Best of anthologies every year. You can help reverse the trend with Locus's new anthology by Friday Aug 7! www.kickstarter.com/projects/204...

Announcing our next stretch goal for our anthology...adding a novella!! If we reach our next goal, #WoleTalabi will grace the pages of the book with Descent, a novella set in the #Sauútiverse and originally published in #Clarkesworld magazine! back @ kck.st/4wtYJ6X
Neoclassical econ assumes rationality. The corollary of, "If you're so smart, why aren't you rich?" is "you're rich, so you must be very smart!" Thus, people assume that if powerful, well-compensated CEOs insist that "AI is changing everything," well then, *AI must be changing everything*. 1/
Naruto running through the streets of Fuenguirola because why not, its noche viva.
I'm one of those authors who enjoys talking about my stories, why I made certain choices, what ideas I was going for, etc. (its why all my short story collections include authors notes) But I'd hate if that became the default expectation for most writers because of concerns around AI nonsense.
Let’s get @wtalabi.com’s Sauútiverse novella, Descent, into this anthology! ⏱️ 💫

One thing I learned from engineering which I apply to my writing is the importance of decoupling process from single results. Following a good process may not result in expected results every instance but gives the highest probability of success over time. Plus, no process is 100% efficient.
Does anyone even like social media anymore?

I am so excited for this. Shigidi and the Brass Head of Obalufon was one of the best things I’ve read in ages. Now a first contact thriller? Politics and assassins and witch doctors and astronomers? Go to the top of the list.
As we near the release of THE FIST OF MEMORY, I've been thinking about why I wrote the book and why people should read it. One reason is that this novel is unique - the purest expression of all my creative and philosophical interests molten, annealed and fired like a bullet into the readers heart.

I have never wished I could duplicate myself more than I have this year.
I hope someone does the Icelandic Sagas too
I love that Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey has gotten people talking about ancient epic poems so much but what i really want to see is a big budget adaptation of other epic poems. Gilgamesh, Sunjata, Gesar, etc. (there's already a Ramayana adaptation coming later this year so thats cool)

I wrote more than 350k words for my forthcoming novel THE FIST OF MEMORY but only about 130k made it to the final book. Many ideas were left out. But all of that writing helped me hone in on the characters, the themes and the plot elements that matter most. Nothing was wasted.
Unsolicited writing advice, no. 367: Nothing you write is ever wasted. Whether anyone reads it or not, it helps build something better. It counts.
Gelezen: Wole Talabi, Shigidi and the Brass Head of Obalufon Wat een heerlijke roman. Afrikaanse #fantasy met een heist-plot, leuke karakters en veel tempo. Het gegeven is goed gevonden: Goden die minder gelovigen hebben trekken de teugels aan en worden CEO's […] [Original post on social.edu.nl]
What an absolutely wild match. I think its the highest-scoring third place world cup game of all time.
Yes yes the san marcos monastery in the parador de Leon is full of amazing mounted and relief sculptures but I'm most fascinated by all the skulls.
