Spending one’s days around 18-22 year olds quickly makes clear they have ~no frame of reference of a “normal politics” that looked like the Obama years.

"By using AI to do X, it keeps me from having to do X" is a statement that's clearly true in some circumstances, though the risk that AI is going to do X badly, and often invisibly badly, is a serious one. But "by using AI when I do X, I get better at doing X" seems clearly false in all instances.
It occurs to me that this is key to breaking down one of the ways that pro-AI and anti-AI people tend to talk past each other. There are things that AI can do *for* us, and that list of things is likely to grow. But I'm not seeing any serious examples of things that AI can do *with* us.
