"The moving Finger writes; and, having writ, Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit / Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line, / Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it." --from Edward FitzGerald's translation of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam
Weird how "the bad thing happened on your watch" is only ever applied to Democrats. Conservatives always crow about accountability while forever dodging it.
So we throw billions at ICE and give them BDSM gloves, but we can't feed our sailors on active deployment. How Trumpian.
Innoculation as a concept is hundreds of years old. Vaccines have saved countless lives. Antivaxers: "but we know more'n some fancy docturrr."
They can fuck right off. www.wired.com/story/dhs-is...
DHS Is Hiring Bounty Hunters to Find and Photograph Deported People’s Homes Abroad
Homeland Security told immigrants that leaving the US would wipe out fines it claims they owe. Now it wants private investigators to find them in their home countries and collect.

So the Pedo-POTUS has depleted our inventory of expensive missiles and allowed the naval fleet degrade into floating derelicts devoid of essential supplies. Disaster in Chief.
If you live in Virginia, you may have had your voting rights restored. You can also register to vote Saturday or Tuesday when you go to vote in the primary. Congrats and get your vote on!
Looking over the latest release notes for Obsidian (@obsidian.md) and wishing all software was maintained with this level of care and integrity. Those guys are the anti-enshitiffication we all need.
This got me choked up. Ohio, thank you for this. 🙏🏽 And God bless Viles Dorsainvil, Exec Director of the Haitian Support Center. Haitians aren’t criminals. They were here legally under TPS until Trump stripped those protections. Yet we’re humiliating them by forcing them to wear ankle monitors.
Working my way through "For All Mankind". Currently halfway through Season 4. I think my favorite thing about the series is that they show men and women can be friends who respect each other. They didn't go for the Seinfeld-era trope that it's impossible for men and women to be pals.
My takeaway from "For All Mankind": high-tension cables are a menace.
Fox: “If it was 25 years ago,” Mamdani would “be probably supporting the attackers on the World Trade Centers” The hijackers: 19 men, 15 from Saudi Arabia, 2 from UAE, 1 from Egypt and 1 from Lebanon. Mamdani: dual U.S. and Ugandan citizen born in Uganda, to parents of Indian descent. Meanwhile⬇️
If Thanos snapped his fingers and teleported all of the MBAs to "Planet MBA" where they could have a never-ending seminar on KPIs...would any of us back here on earth actually miss them?
Many things to parse in this article, but one main takeaway for me is: this epidemic of gambling addiction has got to stop. stephenfollows.com/p/what-just-...
What just happened to TheNumbers.com should worry us all
If you work in or around the film industry, there is a decent chance you have used the work of The Numbers this month, whether you realise it or not.

Folksy fascist Ronald Reagan gave this speech in 1983 in response to Korean Airline Flight 007. The bulk of this speech could be leveled at the United States today and fit the Trump regime almost like a glove. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Cp1...

Late to the party, but I am on season two of For All Mankind. It's really hard to stomach Reagan's folksy fascism all over again. That POS started the phony narrative that the worst half of America bought into back then and still believes (an even worse version) to this day.
Maybe instead of "quiet quitting" tech workers should try out some "stealthy sabotage".
Israel has universal healthcare and we don't. WTF do we give them money?
All devices should come with a physical hardware switch that cuts power to the mic(s) and camera(s). This would require a competent government that gives a shit about regulations, though.
