Garden chores that I can get done are done. Showered. Settling into my recliner (under a throw), in PJs, to cross stitch for hours while watching Hallmark movies & Josh Johnson comedy. And I still get to enjoy the roses that I bought myself last weekend. This is the life! 😊
Up early. Not enough sleep again. Went to Lowe’s for 10 bags of mulch, a new garden hose, & a pot for an office plant I’m rehabbing. Unloaded the mulch & moved it to the back yard. Repotted the plant. Did some weed eating. Filled the water buckets for my roses, deadheading as I went. It’s so hot!🥵
Son-in-law’s mother is out of the ICU & doing well enough that he was able to go back home. This was his first week on his new job & he had to take emergency leave!

Whew. Another night of little sleep. It’s been a week! SIL’s mother is improving. She’s off the ventilator & is conscious. Isn’t speaking yet, but is trying. My new role at work seems to be a done deal. I’m excited! Spent some time doing research in preparation. Skipped the pool today. Really need
I can’t believe it’s already the end of Thursday. This week has been a whirlwind! I’m going home & straight into the shower. Hungry & need to eat, but almost too tired to care about food.
I’m so tored. But I can’t sleep! Last 2 nights I was up later than I should have been. Then didn’t sleep well. Really needed good sleep tonight. But I’ve slept 3.5 hours. And been awake for the last 2 hours. My head hurts. And I need to get up for the day in 4.5 hours, for a packed day at work.
Whirlwind afternoon. Got a meeting invite this morning from my boss’s boss for a meeting at 1:30. Looks like there may be a big change to my position that would cut my therapy practice by half, but make me pretty indispensable to the organization. An hour after that meeting, my daughter texted
Went to Lowe’s at lunch & picked up 16 5 gal paint buckets. After work, I drilled a 1/8 inch hole near the bottom of each bucket. Set one by each of my 14 roses & my 2 full sun camellias. Filled each bucket with water to give the shrubs long, slow watering. So happy to get this done on a work day!
I have conceded in defeat. Buddy has won ownership of what was my movie theater blanket. I ordered a new one for myself.
Bay Area friends: would you consider opening your home to these two cuddly cats? A friend found them behind a gas station. Their sibling, a black cat, got adopted, but it appears no one likes orange cats. They are being kept in a bathroom for the time being and need a home.

Audible is having a site-wide sale for members. I just bought 19 audiobooks at an average price of $4 each. I always feel such comfort knowing that I have plenty of TBR books in my audio library. 😊 And a book (already on pre-order) by a fave author releases this week!
Woke up this morning from a weird stress dream. Probably stressed about returning to work after such a wonderful weekend. But, hey. Someone has to buy the Churu & Fancy Feast. 🤷♀️

Got dressed for the pool. Went into the backyard & did some much needed weed eating. Planted a rose. Watered my backyard plants. Stuck surveyor flags by each plant to make it easy for my son to help with the watering (he can easily identify the plants that need watering, now). Swim for an hour & a
Had a great night’s sleep! Nine & a half hours. And I’m up early enough to do a few garden chores before the pool opens. 😊

They say all politics is local. A Trump voter recently told me (she doesn’t know my politics) that she’s voting for the Dem candidate for governor b/c the Trump-endorsed candidate supports the building of a smelting plant that she’s vehemently opposed to. “If Trump’s for it, he’s wrong!” Wow.

We haven’t had rain since July 11th. Just had 6 triple digit days in a row. At least 8 days in the next two weeks are supposed to be triple digits. 😫
