Five sales this month (!), yet Longbarrow Press staggers on. Here's an opportunity to pick up an excellent book with a couple of quid off.
Daybreak in the wreck of Dogger. Gulls drifting over the slowly rising sea. Seals hauled out on sandbanks, bleached ribs of stranded whales. Dunlin and knot, swarming the mudflats, armies of silt-spearing godwit and whaup. 'Eely' Steve Ely £2 off until 24 July longbarrowpress.com/current-publ...

"A cancelled book launch. Not the end of the world. What would that look like. Would we know it if we saw it. I rise to leave. My clothes are damp with sweat. I’ve scarcely moved in the last two hours." 'Seven Degrees': on cancellations and connections longbarrowpress.substack.com/p/seven-degr...
A lovely surprise to find a review of Beast in the summer issue of @poetrylondon.bsky.social by Freya Jackson, you can read it online too with the link below here.
'a collection that is just as wild as the beasts that populate it, allowing the speaker to find a space for herself within the menagerie as ‘the curator of my own heaven’.’ – Freya Jackson, in @poetrylondon.bsky.social, on @pascalepetit.bsky.social's Beast. poetrylondon.co.uk/an-inheritan...
If you are heading to Venice for the biennale this year, my recommendation is the Ukraine show, offsite near the Accademia. I won’t spoil it by posting photos of it. Just the one. It is called There is Still Joy.
Recommend catching this Keld Helmer-Petersen show at Rocket if you're in London - www.rocketgallery.com/2026-keld-he... Less known than he deserves to be... he was way ahead of his time, particularly working in colour in the 1940s & 50s.
Check out this fabulous poster my mother-in-law just discovered in her loft 🤩
We're doing this tonight. Get in. We're on at 20:15. it's a half hour slot, so we're playing a lean and urgent set. It's sounding great. See you later.
