As a Michigan voter who is grateful as fuck I wasn't in the state for that Senate primary, I think this deserves more attention: Jocelyn Benson has a MUCH easier route ahead of her than it looked like she would in January. MUCH easier. And that's going to help unify the party.

We are the first generation that has sufficient resources to put a roof over every head, a meal on every table, to provide education and basic health care to all, and to care for the planet. Yet we don't. You have to ask yourself what's wrong with us?
All of these separatist projects run into the same problem; the people who want a separatist project are hard to live with.
Malaysia recently revoked the licence of “Network State” leader Balaji Srinivasan's “Network School”, but Balaji announced earlier today that “a memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Network School.” (Kazakhstan also belongs to “Pax Silica” .) 1/
These businesses aren't just wasting billions - they're replacing skilled workers with defective chatbots. As I've written before, AI is the asbestos we're shoveling into the walls of our technological society. 79/
Mike Johnson, leader of the House Republicans and third in line of presidential succession, comes out in favor of a domestic abuser because he needs reliable GOP votes. This is the true nature of MAGA: a politics of impunity, in which powerful white men are entitled to abuse women and children.
Mike Johnson tells Politico that he's standing behind Republican Max Miller — despite the "serious" domestic abuse allegations against him.
Apparently we're paying $25K bribes to AUSAs to convince the to risk their law license working for a shitshow DOJ. www.wsj.com/us-news/law/...
I think "AI" plumpers should be happy I'm focusing mostly on the nonsense it's doing to my field, rather than how it's very clearly designed as a tool for the capture of wealth and capital by a bunch of accelerationist weirdos enthusiastically huffing their own farts from the depth of their K-holes
Sci-fi authors Scalzi and Stross decry AI's dystopian impact on their craft

Detainees in the Adelanto ICE Processing Center have noticed contamination in the drinking water. Last week, we reported on footage from inside the facility that showed evidence of the inhumane conditions inside the facility. The full story: lataco.com/contaminated... 🎥: Aisha Wallace-Palomares
It would be nice if we could stop expecting imaginary sky fairies to punish people in the afterlife and work toward having a functioning justice system that dispenses accountability in the present.
Moderate Democrats can learn a lot about what leadership that connects with voters looks like from Mamdani.
with any luck, this guy is gonna wake more people up to the idea that the government is their rightful power, and not some bitch to be ruled by CEOs
Well, time to log the same reminder for leftists: “vote blue no matter who” applies if the Dem nominee is a moderate.
At the risk of ruining my mentions, I want to remind my centrist friends that “vote blue no matter who” also applies when Dems nominate a leftist. We need to be single focused on winning back the Senate. We cannot do that without Michigan.
The Abortion ban is for poor people. If you're got money, you can get an Abortion anywhere.
Todd Blanche is the Max Miller of Brett Kavanaughs. (There are honestly too many abusive men in the Republican party to neatly land this comparison)
The Democratic Party needs to find a way of embracing the energy and positivity of DSA candidates without alienating moderates. Honestly, I can't see why this is hard for either side of the party to understand, nor do I think it is that difficult.
Cornyn and Tillis are the new Susan Collins. Sorry Susan, but that's not a compliment.
Congress: “We’ve tried nothing and we’re fresh out of ideas.”
Is he nit aware that Blanche will be head of the DOJ and that his vote just put him one step closer to doing just that?
Cornyn: "As to the idea it could be revived in the future, I think it's highly unlikely that could happen without the cooperation of the DOJ. And I think Mr Blanche gave us the assurances that it was dead and would not be revived and in this case we have no alternative but to take his word" 🙃
It shouldn't need to be said but the stock market is not the economy.
When you realize Donald Trump was the master of draining his businesses of assets and then bankrupting the company. You can clearly see what he is doing to our country. He is draining us of all our assets and bankrupting us. Rinse and repeat.
Cornyn and Tillis are no more amoral and cowardly than the rest of the Senate Republicans. Make sure you give all of them the contempt they deserve.

Your occasional reminder: Trump is just the symptom. Republicans are the disease.
BREAKING: The nomination of Trump's former personal lawyer to be Attorney General just advanced to the full Senate. Judiciary Republicans caved: All 12 Republicans voted in favor of Todd Blanche. All 10 Democrats voted against.

The party of family values is in full swing both-sidesing domestic violence today.
NN: The abuse allegations against Rep. Max Miller -- Moreno says he should resign, but President Trump disagrees. Do you think Miller should step down? REP. JIMMY PATRONIS: No. I agree with the president. This is a family fight. Unfortunately, divorces are messy. There are two sides to every story.
And some casino owners don't understand statistics either and that's why they bankrupt them.
I agree with Dr. Fauci. Senator Rand Paul, appears to have an “unhinged obsession”with him.
I find the degree of panic about a few slightly more left leaning candidates getting elected to be quite hilarious. Half a dozen DSA members in a body of 435 is barely going to drag the Overton window back into the late 2000s let alone back to the 1960s.
