On Trump threatening legislative blockade until its passage: “[he] has never been more out of touch”
WASHINGTON — While the illegal war in the Middle East wages on, gas prices rise, and health care costs continue to soar, President Trump has made it clear his “No. 1 priority" is to pass the “SAVE America Act”--MAGA’s extreme anti-voting rights bill–with demands that it include anti-trans provisions. He even threatened not to sign any bill until Congress sends this legislation to his desk. In response, the following statement may be attributed to Laurel Powell, Director of Communications at the Human Rights Campaign:
“Donald Trump is flailing and has never been more out of touch with what the American public wants or needs. His anti-democratic bill threatens the right to vote for millions of people who have done nothing more controversial than changing their name. By the way…Florida just canceled HIV treatment coverage for 16,000 people citing a “$120million shortfall.” Meanwhile, Pete Hegseth got more than 2x that much money blown out of the sky (in the form of 3 fighter jets) on a Monday morning. The priorities are clear.

If they’re too trigger happy to handle the streets of Minneapolis, why the hell are we sending them on an Olympic field trip? They should be asked for their papers and sent right back home.

An administration of total inhumanity.
Today, we get to host a retirement ceremony, presided over by General McChrystal, for 5 transgender servicemembers — whose total service eclipses 100 years and whose careers are being ended by Donald Trump. Simply because of who they are. @hrc.org
