So, there's a loophole because Todd Blanche was confirmed as Deputy Attorney General that he can sit indefinitely as Acting Attorney General. So this is just pointless grandstanding, token resistance, Susan Collins can be eternally concerned and it costs her nothing.

I believe the Mitch McConnell pictures are real, in that he's technically "alive", but his stroke caused him irreparable brain damage so that's why they can't make a video as proof of life. The best they can do is get a picture where he appears to be okay. He's basically being puppeted.

Just as I thought... Trump and Israel despise Spain, and Trump wants a narrative to reinforce his immigration crackdowns. This was a deliberate plot organised by the US, Israel and Morocco decided to get in on it to bolster relations with the US. It would explain a lot for sure.
