Seeing how even people with healthy levels of skepticism and reasoning ability have started to use LLMs and quickly developed a dependency on them, surrendering more and more parts of their daily lives to the bots, is really all the reason I need to never touch that shit in my life for my own safety
It's kinda like how I feel about other habit-forming things. I know some folks can use them responsibly, and I don't fault anyone either way, but I can't be so sure I personally would have a healthy relationship with them. Companies built this shit to drip-feed you dopamine. I'm not immune to that.
It is heartbreaking, though, seeing people who were at one point in their lives senior/lead-level developers, skilled professionals at the top of their game, being unable to solve a basic problem without saying "let's see what the AI says". I can't let that shit happen to me. My mind is all I have.

Need to figure out some alternative software when I swap to Linux for several things. Like I need a new IDE since Visual Studio won't work. Need something like Photoshop (maybe gimp but augh it sucks), need some video editing software. Guess I should make a list of everything I use constantly. Hmm
