I wrote Black Satellite on Bob Dylan’s 80th birthday. I was re-reading “Chronicles” & was struck by Dylan’s descriptions of his visits to Woody Guthrie in Greystone hospital and many other scenes in New York, which is where Karen & I spent our honeymoon in The Chelsea Hotel. Happy 85th birthday Bob!

FIRE DRILL - OUT NOW 🔥 The title of my album ‘In Hope Our Stars Align’ is taken from my new single ‘Fire Drill’ which is inspired by Thomas Kinsella’s ‘Butcher’s Dozen’ and Seamus Heaney’s ‘The Cure At Troy’ (in particular the lines “hope and history rhyme” and “hope for a great sea-change”).
