I'm still on MacOS 15 and iOS 18. Is it time for me to upgrade or should I keep putting it off? I really don't like the look of Liquid Glass but I'm starting to apps that I want to try but would require me to upgrade
For the past year, Hell Gate and Type Investigations have been working the phones, haunting courtrooms, hanging out in strange outerborough political clubhouses, and filing endless requests for transcripts to produce the Courts of Contempt.

I still stumble occasionally trying to use @jj-vcs.dev but that's only because it's given me the confidence to try and do things that I'd never even think to attempt directly with git. And even when I mess up jj undo is such a blessing
I've been having a hard time working on personal projects recently, and I think getting back into more directly creative endeavors like game dev may help. What do people recommend? I'm open to any software/language but right now I'm between diving into Bevy or Godot
A reminder of how cool and flexible snapshot tests can be! giacomocavalieri.me/writing/test...
Testing can be fun, actually
Writing and maintaining tests is boring. But they're also some of the most valuable code we can write. With this blog post you'll learn a criminally underrated testing technique to add to your testing...

Since 2018, the Atlanta Falcons are 53-78 (.405) in games played with playoff eligibility, and 11-4 (.733) in games played after being mathematically eliminated.
Just watched a Samsung ad for their AI features where the actors go to a museum and ask their phone questions about the things on display. Now, I haven't been to a museum as recently as I'd like, but I think they still have those neat little placards next to each exhibit that gives you that info
Continuing my annual tradition of doing advent of code in @gleam.run. It's been a second since I've gotten the chance to write some Gleam and I'm absolutely blown away with how good the LSP has gotten, such a lovely programming experience!
all i'm saying is if we average 5 stars a day lustre can hit 2k in time for my birthday 🥺👉👈 thatd be pretty cool huh huh what if i promise a release when we hit 2k 👀 github.com/lustre-labs/... gogogogogo
"So far, the only bugs we've seen in our Gleam codebase are mistakes in business logic - nothing that would actually crash in production," says Georges Boris, Chief Design Officer at Uncover. Read the full case study: gleam.run/case-studies...

A bunch of talks yesterday name-dropped Lustre which is so surreal, super wild for folks to just be talking about Your Thing ™️ in the middle of a talk. We're only 18 stars off of 1.9k and I'm desperately trying to get 2k before the end of the year. 🥺👉👈 github.com/lustre-labs/...

Hayleigh is by far one of the best devs I’ve ever met, and an amazing teacher of difficult concepts too! If you’re hiring I can’t sing her praises enough!
i'm putting the feelers out for frontend-y dev rel-y docs-y gigs that are 2-3 days a week. if you know someone looking for someone who can do gleam/elm/react/write words, hit me up 💕
Forgot to announce on here, but streamed some #gleamlang this morning! Using gleeunit, I can now automatically create/destroy a database from a template for tests with pog www.twitch.tv/videos/25694...

More important than how productive your tools make you is how cool you feel using them. Is my helix, and zellij setup discernibly better than other editors? Probably not. Does doing basic things make me feel really smart? Absolutely
I don’t think I’m getting the most out of jj that I could, but my commits are cleaner and I’m having fun so that’s a win
Details confirmed for the first ever Gleam conference, brought to you by @crowdhailer.bsky.social: Gleam Gathering is happening on 21st February 2026 in Bristol, England. First speakers confirmed are from our Core Team: @lpil.uk @hayleigh.dev and @giacomocavalieri.me ⭐ gleamgathering.com
I don’t know whether I have the font on my ereader so large because my eyesight is getting worse or because the dopamine hit I get from pressing the page turn button is what keeps me reading
Oh my gosh! Gleam got #2 most admired programming language in the Stack Overflow survey! We're on the podium with Rust and Elixir!
It’s not news that the software that we use seem to be getting worse and worse but it feels like the website versions of apps are getting hit the hardest. Especially on mobile. The bright side is it means I spend less time online out of frustration 🤷
Preliminary results but so far @tanstack.com Form is amazing. Past form libraries I've used have been so frustrating that I've preferred to just hand role forms myself, but TanStack Form has fixed a lot of those issues
Guillaume Hivert, VP of Engineering at Steerlab, shares how being a Gleam business has been the best choice they have made!
A major disconnect I have with a lot of pro AI arguments is that they make out that doing things like searching something on Google is such a painful experience, and we now no longer need to do it. It's definitely gotten more annoying _because_ of AI, but it's wasn't some huge burden solve?
Since the NYT election map by neighborhood is now behind a paywall, I thought I'd share this one by AP apnews.com/projects/nyc...

There are two hawks(?) perched on a tree across from my apartment but they’re just too far away to get a good look at. This is a PSA not to wait to buy your binoculars for birding
Super stoked to see that @gleam.run added support for named processes! This makes it even easier to build out the same kinds of systems that we love in other BEAM languages like Elixir, and Erlang.
