Finished Widows Bay. The laughs became less frequent as the show went on and it all probably could have been wrapped up in eight episodes, but I still had a good time.

When's the last time *three* movies in the top 5 at the box office had $400m and counting? We rarely get that many a year at all let alone in a month.
If you havent logged Obsession a second time yet on Letterboxd, there's a little bonus for when you do.
It's worth noting that the Clint Howard ICE CREAM MAN is pretty lousy, and doesn't need to be held up as a "watch this instead" re the new one. It's hardly a better use of your time. Just, you know, go for actual ice cream.
New novelization column is up! FRIGHT NIGHT! www.fangoria.com/fright-night...
FRIGHT NIGHT Novelization Is Back In Print And Brings A Slightly Different Bite
With an extended ending and characters less likable than their onscreen counterparts, the FRIGHT NIGHT novelization features enough changes to make it worth the read.

Can an R rating stop the second X-Files movie from being total ass? Guess we will find out!
One thing about healthcare in Los Angeles is that it's pretty much a guarantee you spend more time looking for a spot in the parking lot than your doctor will spend talking to you.
One cool thing about using AI in films is that it saves audiences money too.
Now do Saw V
In Christopher Nolan’s “Odyssey,” viewers see inside the Trojan horse, but they “do not see inside the characters or their world,” Emily Wilson argues. theatln.tc/04uouYu6 🎨: Anna Ruch / The Atlantic. Sources: Heritage Images / Getty; Melinda Sue Gordon / Universal Pictures / Everett Collection.
The @fangoria.bsky.social Camp Slashers issue is now officially available at 35,000 locations nationwide! That's about 34,995 more stores than the number who carried the HMAD book. If you see it in the wild, send me a pic / location! It looks like this.
This looks great. And flesh cookies! An obvious homage for this year's gala 20th anniversary of BLACK XMAS!
Gonna be a massacre on 34th st! #ViolentNight2
In four days, BRAND NEW DAY has already outgrossed the worldwide totals of all but three of the MCU movies released post-Endgame. Two of which are the previous Spider-Man movies. (Deadpool and Wolverine being the other.)
Million dollar idea: fondant that doesn't taste like ass.
Movies where Tom Holland gets his balls busted by Jon Bernthal and later has to sneak out of a building dressed as a commoner, ranked: 1. The Odyssey 2. Spider-Man Brand New Day
It's always funny to me when they tout a *Golden Globe* nominee among all the Oscar folk in a trailer. A Nickelodeon kids choice award has more merit.
The ONE NIGHT ONLY trailer in Imax is terrifying. His ears are bigger than me!
If they're cheering for the novelty of the ad, yes. If they're cheering because, now that it's been cut down, seeing her means that the movie is only 30 seconds from starting after as many minutes of ads, I can't fault them.
There is nothing cringier than when people STILL cheer at the Nicole Kidman AMC ad
BRAND NEW DAY didn't need Hulk and turning it into a two-hander in the last hour didn't do the pace any favors, but the action and Peter's dramatic arc (plus his interplay with Frank) made it a good time all the same. Also the "NY loves Spidey" aspect was lovely.
Hell yeah, that magical moment when the last trailer ends, heralding the chain of three (3) advertisements for the theater I am already sitting in before the movie finally starts, 30 minutes after the posted showtime. POWER OF AMC, BABY!
Michael B Jordan should have directed a remake of 13TH WARRIOR to come out at the same time. youtu.be/SGY58autvdM?...

I honestly thought the general malaise re: superhero movies would leave this new Spidey coming in a little short of its predecessors (but still a hit). Holy shit was I wrong. $927m in one weekend???
It is crazy to see a weekday morning showing of a movie *over a month from now* still have few decent seats available.
Does anyone else instantly think of the TV movie with Farrah Fawcett about the lady who killed her kids whenever they hear Duran Duran's "Hungry Like a Wolf?" Just me? OK.
Neighbors are playing rap at loud volume so I am drowning it out with BAT OUT OF HELL II. And if it's still going on in 75 minutes? Theyre getting Ghost.
Stoked that Vinegar Syndrome is putting OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN out in 4K with new extras (Weller interview!) but alas, I can't justify the cost of their discs when it's an upgrade from a Blu I already paid for. The subscribers who haven't seen it yet are in for a treat though. That movie rules.
Saw it before I ever saw a Bond movie. The joke was lost on me.
HAPPY 40th ANNIVERSARY Jason Lives: #FridayThe13th Part VI! The final film in the Tommy Jarvis trilogy opened with a cemetery resurrection and a James Bond title sequence homage this day in 1986.
Amazing time for Tom Holland right now at the box office but we absolutely must take precautions to ensure we don't get another CHERRY as a result.
I promise I'll stop sharing this soon, but we're really close to completing the current phase and I (think) unlocking the final stretch. This cost about what I make in a year as a freelance writer. Anything helps, even a share. <3 www.gofundme.com/f/bj-needs-a...

I may love the Saw movies but I am absolute garbage using Pig as a killer in Dead by Daylight
