Just discovered that CSP has 2 different eyedroppers: The normal eyedropper, AND ONE THAT WILL AUTO SELECT THE COLOR ON THAT LAYER!! 🤯 No more hiding effect layers to get to the color I need!

I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS. ❤️ Stephen Colbert is the perfect person to help bring this to life. I always giggle whenever he geeks out about LOTR during his talkshow with guests. www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...

We're almost out of time to tell the House of Representative to #FundLibraries in next year's federal budget! If you haven't taken action, now's the moment: email or call your House Rep TODAY: ala.org/showup
The replies to this thread shed a light on the reality of making comics. Creators I know either have a support system (partner, family), work A LOT, or have access to health care. I worked a day job, ate dinner, then worked on my GN until 4am for months followed by 16 hour weekends. It's not easy.
People who make comics (or other freelance art work) as their fulltime job: how do you do it? How do you make it work, esp financially? People who make comics on the side while having a fulltime day-job: how do you do it without overworking and/or burning out?
When my graphic novel is done, I'm excited to make my first manga zine and experiment with screen tones. I always had an affinity to limited color palettes, so it will be nice to go back to my roots and learn more about a medium I grew up reading. 🌳

You know you're in the coloring stage of comics when you take photos of scenes you like the color palette for wherever you go. 🎨
Thankful for horror movies so I can use them as reference for a rainy night car scene 💙
One of the most important things you can do for a project is take breaks. It resets your brain so you can come back to it from a fresh perspective.
Breaking out the Clip Studio Tabmate 2 for some quick coloring 🎨

For my books, I map out every day on a calendar that a scene takes place. Never did I think that choosing a year that has Valentine's on the weekend would complicate my timeline. 🤦♀️
"Treat your body with the care you treat your artwork." Haven't been able to get this out of my head since hearing it. Time to put those words into action ❤️

Learning more French so I can read French comics. 🇫🇷
Made myself a little color palette picker for my graphic novel! 🎨 At first, I used CSP's built-in color palette, but I found this method much faster. Plus, it automatically converts my tool into a color picker when I tap inside the sub view!
If you're printing a comic with color, make sure to work in CMYK mode! I made the mistake of coloring in RGB and soon discovered some of the colors I used looked dull when converted for printing. Clip Studio now allows you to preview your work and color wheel in CMYK mode. It's so handy! 🎨
Just remembered one of my former students asking me: Him: "Are you a tomboy?" Me: "Yup!" Him: "Wooooaaaah, cool."
247 inked pages of my graphic novel done! 🎊 Now, off to do a Substack recap and on to colors.
Less than 20 inked pages of my graphic novel left!! So excited to start color ❤️ Still in disbelief that I drew over 220 pages.
Highly recommend this book for any artist that wants to create comics/manga! It's called "All Faces" and includes 24,908 faces from One Piece panels. It's a great study tool to see character faces at different scales or as inspiration for expressions.
Epic the Musical has helped me get through the final stretch of inks! It's so gooood. 💙
