As a consultant & freelancer I try to be careful with public posts. But there has been a noticeable trend towards bigger companies backtracking on their efforts to repair, mitigate & prevent harms around racism, sexism & ableism in their lore, mechanics & games generally. It sucks.

The fun part about doing these physical props was trying to make VERY planned damage and ‘mistakes’ look spontaneous if I made a mistake (which I did quite a few times bc believe it or not, fire is hard to make behave 🤪) I’d have to start all over 😩

Ripped and burned pieces of paper with hard to read writing; a journal entry. A burned journal entry. Ripped up scraps of paper with burn marks. A poem torn in half and burned.

Sin that must be eternally punished is a culturally Christian idea that you can and should reject. If someone admits wrongdoing and changes their behavior, that's the desired outcome. You don't continue to punish because you then signal there's no point to contrition at all, you're damned either way

A lot of people don’t realize the dust bowl wasn’t a natural phenomenon. It happened when agrobusiness interests dramatically transformed the plains without regard for drought, and created vicious dust storms that choked whole families to death. That’s what I think of when I read about data centers.

1/3 I want to shout out A Haunting, Beloved, the AP I made with an incredible group of disabled artists. It's about disability, haunting, grief, and being in love with a fucked-up woman! This is one of a handful of APs I'm aware of that feature disabled artists telling a story about disability.
