911 Calls at the Cuyahoga County Jail revealed that people detained ingested batteries or bleach, and others were for “near hanging, strangulation or suffocation.” Other calls pertained to people dealing with psychosis, catatonia or altered mental status from alcohol or drug withdrawal.
