Our August 2025 Artist of the Month is Marco Rodriguez! 🎨 #BrockportArtistsGuild #ROC #artsky brockportartistsguild.org/marcorodriguez

It’s officially August, and what a BEAUTIFUL start! ☀️

Brockport Artists’ Guild’s August 2025 Artist of the Month is Marco Rodriguez! 🧑‍🎨🎨

Marco Rodriguez was born the son of poor migrant workers. As a young child, he remembers drawing for hours at a time; he drew everything from flowers, birds, farm animals, wildlife, Batman, Spiderman, martians, spaceships, and cool race cars. By age 13, he made his first oil painting. He took all the art courses he could in high school. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and went on to a career at General Motors, managing design engineers and found a love for drawing cars and gears. Upon retiring, Marco started exploring making art with crayons, leading on to pastels, watercolor, acrylic, oil paint, ink, charcoal, and more! Marco still finds himself soul-searching for his preferred art style.

Adrian Morris is Brockport Artists’ Guild’s June 2025 Artist of the Month!

Adrian Morris is an Irish-born artist living in Western New York. Though life brought him to the United States in 2008, Ireland remains at the heart of his identity. Oil painting is his primary medium. Deeply connected to his Celtic heritage, he draws inspiration from Ireland's landscapes, and from the spirit of its people. He also finds inspiration in the struggles and triumphs of figures like Frederick Douglas, and the musical genius of Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong. Adrian feels compelled to create. Ultimately, his greatest competition is himself.
