These screencaps from a friend's Discord server sum it up nicely. TLRD: because corporations are EXPECTED to fuck up at this point, people have FAR higher standards for indie creators -- especially queer women since they make up most of said creators. To these folks, queer art MUST be perfect.

Almost all right-wing conspiracy culture stems from them being incurious and averse to critical thinking, so they encounter something like this, skip right past the idea a sneaker company could do a varying tread for different areas of the foot, and determine it's the Matrix/illuminati/Jewish plot.

an addendum, i dont want to only make low poly games for the sake of nostalgia either. i think its genuinely a fun and interesting way to engage in the medium of 3d, it's a limiting, minimalist abstraction that forces you to make interesting decisions. i love placing every vert by hand. it's fun!
