when i heard that jax tadc was trans, i thought it made so much sense. "of course he was raised a little girl, he despises femininity in such a particular way. of course he hates the thought of going back to reality, he was trapped in his body there." anyways apparently they're not a trans man 😭💀

After the various discussions here and on their site (and maybe more), looks like RPG Trader has taken another step to go fully in on "No AI-generated content permitted", which is a stronger win than I expected. So. Gonna have to put some stuff up there soon.

A fresh update for our AI content policy: support.rpg-trader.com/t/ai-content... Thank you to everyone in the community who has engaged thoughtfully over this topic - we're looking forward to being a home base for the many TTRPG designers who value human creativity and effort.

Saw a post where someone was excited about how many books they had read so far this year, and people were dunking all over them because it was a low number by their standards. Just, ew. Don't be like this. Who cares if you've read 150 books or 1. Read what you want when you want. Just read! 📚💙

"According to Velloso, less than 3% of paying users actively use Copilot, even though Microsoft has pre-deployed it directly into the Windows 11 taskbar and across the Office suite." lol, lmfao

Former Microsoft VP says Microsoft missed the AI wave like the internet and mobile, as Copilot scales back in Windows 11

Former Microsoft PM says the company's AI push failed, citing Copilot's dismal 3.3% adoption rate and calling for a massive factory reset.

If you figure out what the thing that makes you happiest is, you will make it with such unparalleled enthusiasm that it will be impossible for people not to notice in a way that will be so much more memorable than treating yourself like a branded product before you figure out who you are.

I watched a video essay recently that had a tag line of "social was never meant to be media" and I think it shares the same frustrations/sentiment as "the medium became the message". The social part of social media was meant to be the people, not the platform. Alas...

I've become a bit more skeptical of boyd in recent years, but this is a useful, readable essay that outlines the state of online / digital sociability: "Social Media is now Parasocial Media" Open access, bit of a long read: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...
