The Odyssey (2026) was of course amazing, not that I had any doubt. However, the guy sitting next to me in the theatre complaining about "the lack of historical realism" the whole time could maybe just watch movies at home from now on, so he doesn't ruin any more cinematic experiences of others 🙃

This week in Konstanz was a bit unfortunate because of the heatwave ☀️. However, me and my boyfriend decided to just spend the whole week in a uni library with AC & work. Which lead to a fortunate result - I finished an article about editing Medieval Czech texts and how the paradigm changes with AI.

Fresh off Friday's Vienna workshop on how VLMs are changing HTR/ATR, I’m at the Moravian Land Archives in Brno tracking down medieval colophons. Using Gemini to transcribe and translate tricky Latin on the fly makes me wonder: is traditional HTR even going to be necessary? 🤔
