I wrote a post on Instagram describing the link between climate change and the Canadian wildfires, and at the end I thanked big oil and unfettered capitalism. Instagram saw this and said “Your story looks like branded content. Add a paid partnership label” I have to laugh.

While Minnesota was stopped from enforcing a total ban, the state may ultimately be allowed to prohibit some types of prediction-market wagers.

I miss when Vimeo was also a relevant place to find videos especially of performances by musicians. Even Wolrdstar had some good musical content before Youtube drank the Water of Life (merged with Google)
This makes economic sense to me but feels like a platformization threat we will regret in the future like Facebook-Instagram or Google-Youtube.

Ive been following the Paramount story since the initial Netflix proposal. Seeing the way folks organized to push against these mega-mergers and how that manifested in the suits against Paramount-Warner Bros gives me so much hope

Martin Austermuhle@maustermuhle.bsky.social · 2mo agoHere's the precinct map of D.C., and you can see that @janeese4dc.bsky.social has so far cleaned up in almost all central parts of D.C., which includes Ward 1 and Ward 6, much of wards 4 and 5, and most of east of the river. This is an impressive showing by any measure.
