We hold the US government is responsible for collaborating in the Israeli genocide of Palestinians. The US is bankrolling it with a minimum of $3.8 billion to the Israeli military each year. In 2025 alone, at least $12 billion more.

My column on how capital becomes a death cult. Faced with a choice between profit and human life, the radical right chooses profit. Then it tries to persuade us that mass death is what we want. It's the new phase of climate denial: accept your fate, earthlings. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Murderous heat, an endangered food supply, decimated landscapes: embrace the Mediterranean life | George Monbiot

As climate disaster stares us in the face, the radical right says ‘Embrace the Mediterranean life’. Embrace death, more like it, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

War is a failure of diplomacy. The only winners in a war are the military industrial complex (#MIC). Everyone else, especially the poor, loses. War is always a waste of young men's lives and their children's futures. Wise leaders know this and instead work for peace. Let's elect some wise leaders.

“War”. What “war”? It’s a massacre, a genocide, a slaughter of defenceless civilians, including tens of thousands of children & babies, doctors, nurses, teachers, journalists sanitised by “balanced” media reporting of Western media outlets. Was Auschwitz a “war” too? www.rte.ie/news/2026/08...

Mass funeral held in Gaza for family killed during war

In a cleared plot of land between buildings flattened by airstrikes in Gaza City, row upon row of Palestinian flags were laid out neatly over the remains of dozens of people to be buried.

Indeed, IPCC models also assume the large-scale deployment of bioenergy with carbon capture and storage, a totally unproven technology to suck carbon out of the atmosphere and would require a land area twice the size of India! I would put nuclear in the same false hope category.

Direct, full-time jobs opening Rosebank oilfield would create: 450 D, f-t jobs opening Jackdaw gasfield would create: 27 D, f-t jobs in UK's net-zero economy: 300,000 + 400,000 more on the way D, f-t jobs in the rest of the green economy: 600,000 Is that really the hill Burnham wants to die on?

NEW: An unusually widespread outbreak of the foodborne parasite Cyclospora has been causing illness across the U.S. this summer. Regulatory neglect, corporate consolidation in the food system, and poor labor conditions for farmworkers helped drive the outbreak. www.iatp.org/industrial-f...

Contamination by Design: How an industrial food system has driven the Cyclospora outbreak

Regulatory neglect, corporate consolidation, and poor labor conditions contribute to the spread of a diarrhea-causing parasite.

Beef is the coal of the food system. It's one of the most emissions-intensive things we consume, and Americans eat a lot of it -- the equivalent of 6 burgers a week. Cutting back to one serving of beef a week (similar to EAT-Lancet) in all high-income countries would be a huge win for climate.
