This dumbbell chart compares the percentages of adolescent girls and boys aged 15–19 who believe a husband is justified in hitting or beating his wife under at least one specified circumstance, highlighting the 20 countries with the largest gender gaps in responses. Pink circles represent girls, blue circles represent boys, and grey connectors show the size and direction of the difference, with Azerbaijan showing the widest gap (63% of girls versus 8% of boys), followed by Kyrgyzstan (40% vs. 10%) and Rwanda (53% vs. 24%). The spike in that #accidentalart meant something! Taking a closer look at the deadliest day in Ireland's shipwreck history for this week's #TidyTuesday. Made in #ggplot2, greatly inspired by @ansgarw.bsky.social past work. Edited in Figma for the final highlights. #RStats #DataViz

Calendar heatmaps show the distribution of Irish shipwrecks by day of the year, with each panel representing a century compressed into a single calendar year. The standout date is 9 February in the 19th century, with 161 recorded wrecks. An accompanying bar chart shows that this spike is driven by the Great Gale of 9 February 1861, which caused the largest number of shipwrecks recorded on a single day in the dataset.

Remake of an earlier plot for the #30DayChallenge, created in #Figma. Upon revisiting the plot, the Tusklessness measure seemed counterintuitive, so I chose to represent the presence of tusks instead, creating an infographic-style #dataviz. #noai #elephants #africa #tusk bsky.app/profile/byte...

This infographic illustrates the loss of tusks among female elephants in Southern Africa over the last century as a result of intense hunting and ivory poaching. A tusk is used metaphorically as a scale to represent the increasing prevalence of tusklessness among female elephants in the region.
