Ok, fine, let’s give “Ted Lasso” a try. (Eight straight episodes later) Ok, I get it.
Walking out of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” Holy hell. The last one delighted me too much to be knocked off the top spot, but this Spider-Man is the most New York yet. Not as bright as the others, grungy in the right ways. Excellent performances by everyone, amazing fight scenes, humor and heart.
“The Thomas Crown Affair” as an action movie? I like Michael B. Jordan and I’ll give it a shot, but I love the first two versions for the elegant tricks, careful misdirects, and the character relationships. Not sure yet that leaping around rooftops fits that brief.

Today’s thrift store movie finds were a bit all over the place.
Dreamt I worked at Costco and they had an employee program where you suggest themed merch and sales. I wanted to see what it would look like if Daredevil’s Wilson Fisk was beloved. I was delighted when Costco produced tons of merch featuring a cheery-yet-menacing bald fat guy in a white suit.
I can tell it’s a good day when the two lines of music always relentlessly repeating in my head are from a song I like.
Got my solitaire streak past a year and then I intentionally let it drop because it had long since turned into a need to keep the streak rather than enjoying the game. It was still surprisingly difficult to let it go. It made my brain twitch.

My healthy eating plans were temporarily derailed this morning when I remembered we had rolls left over from a celebratory Texas Roadhouse dinner which could be used for bacon egg and cheese sammiches. But I also had an orange, so that balanced everything out, probably. That's just science.
As MANY people have said, opposition to how AI has been thrust upon us is *exactly* Luddite in nature. Not an objection to technology, but a protest against BAD tech that puts people out of jobs while delivering subpar products. Read a history book, please. Or ask ChatGPT to summarize it for you.

Yesterday the House passed a bill to make daylight saving time permanent all year. The United States tried that already, in the 1970s. It didn’t go well.

The new Roku TV Home Screen finally rolled out to me. My screen, which for ages was mercifully free of most of the crap other streaming services have, loaded ‘em up. On the left, what it was. On the right, what it is now. Fortunately you can, at least for now, hide it all in Settings. So I did.
At some point after midnight tonight, a new @chucktingle.bsky.social ebook is going to be waiting for me. I can’t sleep. I feel like I should put out milk and cookies, or bourbon and scones, or something.
Apple, please add an option for me to hang up with an audible slam. I fear that others on the phone may not appreciate how fully and completely I am hanging up on them. It should consist of the traditional slamming noise, including the satisfying sound of a bell rattling inside from the force.
