Husband to a gorgeous wife, father to two great kids, greying leatherfairy, infamous furry, and world-class software engineer. If you can read this, you're running code I wrote.

If they haven't figured out why I'm always lying to my mom than clearly I haven't been trauma dumping enough and it's time to pretend we are going to play Catan again

That weird feeling when you are doing a code review for a peer, you find six or seven major flaws in the implementation, then you hand back your review and realize you didn't even look at the AI "reviewers" output.

Aaaaaaaand AP just called the Kansas U.S. Senate Democratic primary for Rev. Adam Hamilton, so now there is, indeed, six. Not surprising (he was breaking fundraising records), but notable all the same. (And possibly one more pastor nominee by night’s end — we’ll see.)

"Pastors in Name Only" "Wicked Witch of Woke" “I've never seen anyone commit so much blasphemy against the word of God." As pastors become Democratic nominees — at least 5 so far, and likely one more tonight — their Republican opponents are attacking their faith. religionnews.com/2026/08/04/p...

You know that they'll say, right? "The most addictive substances known have a physical addiction rate of 67.5% after one year. If 97.1% of people who start sex-change hormones refuse to get off of them, then sex-change drugs are more addictive (and therefore dangerous) than nicotine or heroin."

"The majority (97.1%) of adolescents continued to identify with a gender not typically aligned with their birth sex. Only 2.9% reverted...None who initially identified as non-binary returned to binary gender aligned with birth sex. Discontinuation of gender-affirming hormones was rare."

Incredible nonsense from John Cornyn. True, the harm to Epstein’s victims can’t be remedied by a “no” vote. But why should Blanche’s corrupt cover-up of the Epstein files—in violation of a Congressional mandate(!)—be rewarded by “yes”? Can’t get any more craven than this.

Cornyn justifies his support for Blanche: "That's one of those things that can't be remedied by a 'no' vote"

"Forcing others to pay for the healthcare of those not blessed by God with excellent health, wealth, and the fortune to live someplace relatively uncontaminated by industry would destroy the concept of 'human right' and disrupt the balance between rights and attendant duties." This is un-Christian.

The Family Research Council says, "Healthcare is not a human right." The United States is a signatory to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948), which states, "Healthcare is a human right." www.joemygod.com/2026/08/frc-...

Elon Musk's Starlink, alone, at planned full deployment, would have 29 TONS of debris re-entering the atmosphere every day. That's one car hitting the Earth somewhere every hour. Add in Amazon's Kuiper and Eutelsat's OneWeb projects and that's just a huge disaster waiting. pirg.org/edfund/resou...

Environmental harms of satellite internet mega-constellations

Fueled by satellite internet companies, the number of satellites in orbit is skyrocketing. The environmental risks may be massive.

Head Start has served 30+ million kids, including tens of thousands in Maine. It’s had bipartisan support. The Admin wants to kill it. After failing to freeze funding, their new plan is to lower standards for curricula, medical screenings, and more—so fewer kids get the care + education they need.

Trump Administration Plans to Upend Head Start by Deregulating It

The White House tried but failed to block funding for preschool for poor children. Instead, it will seek to strip away standards on health, literacy — and brushing teeth.

This is the same playbook cop shops were running in 2009 when I wrote about how they were dropping GPS trackers on cars without warrants: don’t admit it, pretend you got the info other ways It was only when defense attorneys started asking that they started being honest

New: Police are being told to hide the fact that they're using Flock to pull people over and arrest them in both encounters with citizens but ALSO in their official police reports: www.404media.co/do-not-menti...
