CachyOS

@cachyos.org

CachyOS is an archlinux based distribution, which targets performance and usability.

We just dropped our first release this year! Really many great changes in the installer as well as fixes for it. The ISO now uses Wayland, Plasma Login Manager is used for the KDE Plasma installation and more! Check out the full changelog: cachyos.org/blog/2601-ja...

Hey all, We are going to push today a emergency fixup release out. There has been an issue on the LTS Kernel identified being compiled with AVX2, which results that CPUs not supporting AVX2 can not boot. The release should be available latest at 17:00 CET.

I'm quite shocked to see a user-space Rust scheduler (rustland) competing and, in some cases, even outperforming other BPF or in-kernel schedulers. Big shoutout to the @cachyos.org community for constantly running all these benchmarks! It's great motivation to keep improving!

i need to clean up a lot of packages but i'm incredibly happy with how i have things set up! this has been a very nice change of pace from having things Forcefully Added to my computer like copilot or whatever. @cachyos.org has been fantastic and is the best arch-based distro i've tried. very good.

kde plasma desktop running on cachyos, there is a main panel at the top and a dock on the right side featuring my regularly used apps and currently open ones. on the top panel, there is a paw print as my application launcher, a universal menu bar, system tray, blurred out weather widget and a clock. there are two windows open, a terminal and a photo viewer. the terminal reads out my computer specifications and the image viewer has a meme in it about making toast.

OCCT is now preinstalled in the latest version of CachyOS ISO! This integration makes it easier than ever for users to stress-test and monitor their systems from the very first boot. We're proud to be included in one of the fastest-growing Arch-based distributions!

We just pushed our new fixup Release out but also adding a new Feature! The Live ISO bundles now @OCCT_Ocbase for stress testing! OCCT provides a really nice addition to linux and thank you for the collabration each other. discuss.cachyos.org/t/cachyos-ap...

Working on a new ISO, with some nice new features, but also breaking changes. NVIDIA 5080 and 5090 support will also bring it with. Drivers are working fine. Blackwell only does support the open module, and therefore we maybe need to cut support for 10xx series. But we will try to figure something.

I've really been enjoying @cachyos.org If you don't go the immutable route, this is a very promising forward-thinking distro, and an example of what Linux should be in 2025. For example, the default kernel is compiled with clang and can take advantage of modern security improvements.

After LLVM 19 got now available, we have integrated the Propeller Optimization into the 6.13 kernel. The kernel is preprofiled and optimized - the only thing you need to do is installing it: sudo pacman -Syu linux-cachyos-rc linux-cachyos-rc-headers Will be available in 1 hour.

The LLVM 19 rebuild is now in progress at archlinux. There is not much left, and it should arrive in the next week(s) finally into the stable repository. LLVM 19 will unlock Propeller Optimization for the kernel 🎉
