The horror we've watched unfold in communities across the country reached Austin today. An ICE agent shot a man in our city. We shouldn't have to fight for the truth about what happened, but we will. Release the footage and bring in independent investigators.

While Pete Hegseth is enjoying the Aggie football game today, our servicemembers will still be fighting a war in the Middle East with no clear purpose, that Congress never authorized. A war that has cost taxpayers more than $37.5B, killed at least 18 Americans, and wounded over 750 more.

For cattle ranchers in my district who are trying to rebuild herds and plan for the future, President Trump’s announcement that he’ll temporarily lower tariffs on imported beef is more tariff whiplash. Tariffs on, tariffs off. Import restrictions tightened, then loosened.

Big Bend isn’t in TX-10, but it’s a treasure in our state and sacred to my family and so many Texans. Texas is something to steward, not sell to the highest bidder or sacrifice to presidential fear-mongering.

None of this happened by accident. Our team has knocked 15,000 doors this summer alone. Every door knocked, every volunteer shift, and every dollar raised reflects people who believe we can win in November and are willing to put in the work to make it happen.
One month ago, we welcomed more than 20 Democracy Summer (h/t @raskin.house.gov) fellows to Team Rourk. Since then, they've been knocking doors, having conversations with neighbors, and doing the work that keeps our democracy healthy. They have real skin in this game, and it shows.
Three American service members were killed this weekend. Their families are grieving. Their units are grieving. And families with loved ones deployed are living with the fear of a knock on their door next.
