Beware the Ninja. I dislike most white people, so don’t try to school me. #RacismStopsHere. I finally know we’re going to hell in a magabasket.

#ResistanceRoots After WWI, hundreds of thousands of veterans joined the American Legion seeking support, medical care and community. Little did they know that the organization was founded by wealthy men who duped the unsuspecting veterans into furthering their anti-labor, anti-socialist agenda. /1

Men pose outside American Legion Post 177 in Venice, Calif., in this undated photo. The post remains in operation today. The American Legion was not set up as a fascist organization, but some early leaders expressed open admiration for Italian fascism in the 1920s. In 1922, National Commander Alvin Owsley publicly praised Benito Mussolini’s Blackshirts, stating that the Legion stood ready to protect U.S. institutions just as the Fascisti dealt with threats in Italy. Early leaders framed their aggressive opposition to socialists, anarchists and the Industrial Workers of the World using militant language. Republicans are pulling out all the stops to make you feel powerless in this critical moment. Powerless people don't organize. They don't vote. They don’t fight back. We cannot believe the MAGA myth that we are powerless—we never have been. And we’ll win in November.
