"how could they tell? AI users can hide that they used AI" I'm not asking for the perfect "get rid of all AI and only AI with no misfires" solution I'm asking for Literally Anything besides a cute post on social media that doesn't even name the problem directly even though everyone knows what it is.

a screenshot of an itch.io search page of user-made resource packs. All but 3 items on the page are from the same uploader and have extremely similar thumbnails with a font similar to other popular AI-generated fonts and generic titles. It is almost certain that AI is involved for all these to have been made and uploaded so rapidly

“How would itch feasibly ban and remove all the AI games? It would take so much time and effort” Idk they didn’t have much trouble delisting games based on a specific set of parameters last year now did they

I will not forget that Zuckerberg and Facebook shut down the accounts of the most popular presidential candidate in one of the largest democracies in the world, and he was elected anyway

I hate social media. I’m sick of numbers. I’m sick of pretending that I care whether people care about my art. To not believe in the power of social media feels like it requires faith in a God. To cut yourself off from the internet to trust that you’ll survive as an artist in an act of deep faith.

I think the thing I find so discouraging about slop, more than the blatant theft, is discovering the sheer number people around me who would rather become the grifters in this hellscape than dismantle and revolutionize it.
