If anything, @michaelhobbes.bsky.social is downplaying how INSANE the moral panics about madrassas was. I sat in SCIFs where analysts were trying to identify new madrassas to spy on by tracking nearby goat herding patterns. It was a gold rush for ambitious policy entrepreneurs.

You know how I know that you aren't reading the articles that you are citing? Because you are citing them as articles, but they are book reviews, and the title of the "article" is actually the name of the book under review.
