So, after playing Raiders for a week, I have to say, the game’s premise as a looter shooter is fun. The downside, for me, was that the level design is pretty…. Mish moshed. I love the levels where exploration and objectives aren’t a priority, it gives you time to soak in the environments.

It’s disappointing that, while there are folks that would metaphorically prefer to watch the world burn, there are jerks like that who intentionally set fire to everything and everyone for sick amusement. Again, it’s a vicious cycle with these folks with mommy and daddy issues.

As an art book fanatic, I want….. no…. I need these. I love seeing the concepts, ideas and story telling processes they go through to create a game. (That’s one of my favorite aspects of the Splatoon and Spyro series after all).

Another reminder that, amidst the myriad challenges facing academia, researchers also have to re-imagine the political economy of publishing. The biggest academic publishers (Wiley, Springer, Elsevier, etc) are also among the most restrictive and rapacious.

Kinda debating posting my art on instagram again. I never had luck with that platform and it’s just toxicity and AI from the neck up. I know a lot of folks over there, but I don’t think it’s worth my time.
I never needed generative AI because I was encouraged at a young age to read books and create my own stuff. If anything, things were better before AI was a thing, before forums were a thing because we didn’t have to listen to nimrods without experience spouting and spreading 🐂 💩.
