Blender supporter. Food processors, not so much. Tech nerd, not tech bro. Schrödinger's Canadian. Sorry, not sorry. Scrub your social media regularly. Game AI good. LLM AI bad.

Need to win the lottery so I can afford a 5090 for rendering. I like the RX7600XT but the nvidia cards blow away AMD completely in Blender :/

All the legs animated. Not perfect, but this is more about learning than getting production-quality out of it. Now to move on to lighting and rendering.

It's not going terribly, but there's a few spots where the constraints force me to move the legs because otherwise it would just push them along because of limits, and it looks awkward. Without the "actuator" limitations it would be a lot smoother.

Sigh. At some point in the course I broke the animation rig and it wasn't obvious until several save iterations later. Don't really know what to do without going back hours and starting fresh :(

Hmm... got a text message that someone was trying to log into an Apple account that I don't use, so there was no chance that they got the password by phishing. They didn't get the auth code, so didn't login, but it makes me wonder how they got the username and password if not from me.

A historian getting a little bent out of shape by a movie about history/mythology isn't any different than lawyers annoyed by Law & Order, or tech nerds bugged by the representation of every computer in TV/Movies. As Harrison Ford said to Mark Hamill: "Hey kid, it ain't that kind of movie."

Went to the pot store, got asked if I qualified for the "wisdom discount". I didn't but she gave it to me anyway. Officially old now that I'm on the pot store elder list.

Thought it would be a good idea to add a minimum constraint to the actuators in the animation so they'd stay in one piece, and in doing so discovered that the maximum was broken on one side. Took a lot of fiddling around but got it. Animation is not my forte.

It got mentioned a lot during the Austalia wildfires, but there's been pretty much silence in the press in Canada about the toll on wildlife by the wildfires here. It's all been about smoke and the town evacuations. There must be millions of animals displaced or dead.

Latest update to camerabot's scene. Gave it something to track for the animation. Didn't expect the reflection in the lens to be so clear.
