Cycling UK's action is important to prevent withdrawal of the cycle-train option. There's also concern for cycle carriage in the south of England where spaces designated for cycle carriage have been withdrawn despite positive sounding "Better Connected: A Strategy for Integrated Transport".

Removal of #Shoreham cycle lane successfully challenged by @cyclinguk.bsky.social! 👏🚴👍
A Shoreham cycle lane saw 30,000 trips and served five schools before West Sussex County Council removed it. We challenged the decision in court with support from the Cyclists’ Defence Fund. The council admitted it acted unlawfully and agreed to pay £25,000 towards legal costs.

When the media reports a 20mph ‘blanket ban’ it’s often misleading, presuming that even the A-roads are now forced to limit you to a more pedestrian-friendly pace. That’s never been quite true, although for campaigners within the city limits of Bath, that’s the goal... road.cc/news/cycling...
"Learn from the London experience but go one better". A promising perspective from @andyburnham.bsky.social on #Cycling. We need to see progress in local areas across th country and the new strategic authorities as soon as they get a budget. #ActiveTravel
Nine years ago, @andyburnham.bsky.social told Cycling UK he wanted to make Greater Manchester a place where cycling was a genuine option for everyone. As Mayor, the Bee Network helped make that vision a reality. Now, as Prime Minister, we look forward to working with him.
