The chirping was driving me crazy, so I left. I'm a (self proclaimed) artist. This is a personal account, but if I have the energy or mental capacity, I'll post my work here.
I'll get a #ScanlineSunday entry in with some nighttime city views bathed in cathode glow. 💜 One of the PC-98 game artwork images converted to Mega Drive palette and resolution and running on one of our own via a compilation rom file. 📺: Bush 14" VCR combi, composite.

Surprise! Sega Saturn is out NOW! The decision to launch the Sega Saturn early in North America in May 1995 ultimately did more harm than good, annoying developers, angering their distributors, and causing Sony to issue its infamous $299 announcement. 📖: Video Game Advisor #2, June '95.
Man, the timelessness of Falcom's texture work during its Windows 98/XP days never fails to put me in my happy place. So clean and pristine, yet still full of character even at resolutions nobody realistically played these games at on release. Some of my favorite stuff of this vintage. 😌
Donkey Kong 64 makes extremely efficient usage of in-engine coloration to cut down on the number of textures. Entire vibrant and colorful areas are created at runtime from a single texture just by artfully tinting it.

Head's up peeps, there's a translation out for an obscure Dreamcast RPG, Tricolore Crise, that first popped up four days ago with a first release and then a 'completion' release last night. It's LLM translated using an AI-friendly workflow tool also being developed for wider use. (1/3)
One neat thing about Soul Calibur was that every single fighter got their own exhibition feature. A demo to show off their proficiency with their weapons, all recorded by real martial artists doing badass mocap. Kilik's was the best.

100% overblown for that timeframe. It happens in specific cases and a minority of again specific discs are more prone. I've got anime discs that are first year DVDs running fine, Mega CDs from 92-94 that are still spotless, and globs of PS1, PS2, and everything in between and after with no issues.
I think while yes disc rot is somthing to be concered with, the worry that your entire collection will rot in the next 5 to 10 years is overblown. If stored well and if the disc was made properly (i know some were not) these disc should last close to or over 100+ years especially bluray and 4k discs

From a 'Runlength mode' (which is something to do with graphics data compression, I think?) graphics test for the unreleased 'Sonic Mars' for Sega 32x: a most prismatic Sonic. Intended to be the first 3D Sonic game, development would be shifted to the Saturn and the also unreleased Sonic X-Treme.
