❗ Young people can't afford to live. Our research found that a third of 16-25-year-olds cut back on food in the last 3 months. Young people should be thinking about next steps in their lives, like moving out or learning to drive, but they can barely even afford to get by.
Back to school today (S5) and my youngest is almost too tall for the traditional front door picture! Best of luck to everyone starting back across #Fife today 🍀

A huge thanks to everyone who attended our national hustings last night with @citizensadvicescot.bsky.social No doubt that the consensus in the room was that poverty is a political choice. We need more ambition. The next Scottish Govt must work with us to end the need for food banks forever.
Last ever week of school for my daughter! Can’t quite believe how fast this has come round. 😱

It’s encouraging that child poverty is falling in Scotland. It shows the power of investing in social security. But it’s not acceptable that 1 in 5 children are locked in poverty. All parties must commit to decisive action to ensure every child has a decent start in life.
Great to meet with @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social alongside some key partners to discuss how we can end child poverty across the UK.
To end child poverty in Scotland our Governments must work together. 🏴 🇬🇧 So with the unfair 2 child cap scrapped 👏, we welcomed the chance to discuss the further steps needed at UK level with @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social, to ensure every one in Scotland can afford the essentials. #EndChildPoverty
🚨 ALERT: Hunger in Scotland isn’t a food problem - it’s an income problem. When incomes don’t cover essentials, food banks become lifelines. BUT no one should have to rely on them to survive.
