“You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.” -- Bradbury
Every author I mentioned, by a consensus of thousands of educators, writers, and critics, has a book (sometimes several) in the 100 greatest books of all time. But they're not in the library?
Counter-point. Order something besides beach books. My library has no Proust, no Balzac, no Flaubert, no Stendhal, no Borges no Louis-Ferdinand Celine no Malcolm Lowry no Montaigne no Lessing no Ford Madox Ford no Goethe no Gogol no Beckett. no Thomas Hardy And Henry James & Dostoevsky: 1 book ????
I'm not sure what to make of "The Shards." It's another Ryan Murphy show that makes the viewer feel unclean if you think too deeply about what it's asking you to feel. But it's also too shiny and empty to care too much about. It's like a gay(er) "Cruel Intentions" made by A.I.

My ⭐️⭐️ review of STARS & BARS boxd.it/fFr0Xl Incredibly talented cast plays to rafters as bumpkins & idiots, employing tired stereotypes in failed farce. Humor highlight: DDL talks funny because he has English accent! Wacky! Extra ⭐️: DDL fully nude (in dress shoes) walking around NYC. #filmsky 📽
A ★★ review of Stars & Bars (1988)
Sometimes, you just have to ask, "What the Hell happened?" Such a state of wonder might befall you when viewing the failed farce STARS & BARS. Was there a terrific screenplay? Did the project fall apa...

#NowWatching STARS & BARS (1988). Director: Pat O'Connor. Daniel Day-Lewis, Harry Dean Stanton. Day-Lewis as fish-out-of-water Brit in New York sounds fun, especially with stacked comedic cast. But... Rewatching, just for sake of curiosity...and naked DDL. #filmsky 📽

A really lovely article about Eisner-winning David Harper for Anchorage Daily News. Also, an incredible author photo by Marc Lester. www.adn.com/alaska-life/...

When at Disneyland, my favorite thing to do is watch Linda have a blast and also look for nods to live action Disney films of the past. Struck gold today when I spotted this poster. It highlights the club that was in “The Rocketeer”. Can be spotted at Clarabelle's Hand-Scooped Ice Cream. #Rocketeer

Daredevil, upside down in freefall, isn't uncommon within the pages. Bound to occur a few times after 700 covers. Your cover is terrific, Richie, but I don't know that these are homages. Maybe--but leeway should be given. This is the other Rivera. The second, by Maleev, also takes this approach.
My friend came across Daredevil # 506 vol.2 and thought it was my DD issue. Apparently Paolo Rivera did an earlier homage to my DD #373 cover in 2010, before his later homage to my cover on the DD 50th anniversary tribute cover. Vol. 4 # 1.50
Trump: "And as illegal aliens go home, the cost of rent, groceries, and other staples is coming down very fast ... it was a word they devised -- 'affordability'"
The President of the United States is sundowning again and claiming the word “affordability” did not exist prior to the media making it up when he retook office in January 2025. Man, if only we had a specific constitutional amendment to address issues like this…

Homeland Security told immigrants that leaving the US would wipe out fines it claims they owe. Now it wants private investigators to find them in their home countries and collect.
