The original Arduino IDE was a game changer for makers, educators, and hobbyists. But did you know it was a fork of a fork?🍴 Not only that, but other companies later forked it as well to tweak it for their own needs! Have you seen or used these other versions? 👇🧵

Made a thing that makes me happy (how sad): an old RaspberryPi with a small screen and a serial console used as a terminal for smolBASIC (My First Text-based Language) that is running ON THE micro:bit! SmolBASIC is itself written in Python and can be extended by older children.

Oh man, I really REALLY wanted to be all in, but $225 + shipping, taxes, and import duties for an nRF52840 watch is a tough sell for me. Was also hoping the Time would at least look less like a fitness tracker, loved the original Time 2 look 🫤 Still incredibly exited that the Pebble is back! ⌚️🥳

I'm working on wrapping the arm-none-eabi-gcc toolchain into a Python Package 📦🐍 for easy distribution and installation. Does anybody have any suggestions of an embedded project with complex build steps to test it? Or that uses as many of the toolchain executables as possible?

This is excellent news! 🎉 For any project targetting arm64/aarch64 testing in GH Actions required to either have a custom runner on your own Arm server (or something a #RaspberryPi) or using an emulator like QEMU. So I've been looking forward to these native runners for a while! 😃

That's the news I've been waiting for months! github.blog/changelog/20... If you have an OSS project, Arm-native developers can now build, test, and deploy entirely within the arm64 architecture without the need for virtualisation on your Actions runs, all for free! Build the future on Arm!
