We were in middle/high school in 1999 when Columbine taught us we weren’t safe from gun violence at school. In 2004, we watched Republicans giddily allow Clinton’s 1994 assault weapons ban expire—noted by the red line, below. 22 yrs later, here we are.

Good god, another school shooting. An elementary school this time. Three precious babies, aged 5, 8 and 11, and their teacher—all gunned down in Bend, Oregon. The shooter was a teenager, shot dead by a bystander, notably, before police even arrived. It’s the guns. It’s. The. Guns.
