I’ve been trying to take advantage of my summer break and write as much as I can before I have to go back to teaching. But I don’t know how ppl can write all day. Like, ppl who have long stretches of time (break, retreats, etc), are you really writing all day? Do I need to brick my phone?

I missed out on buying tickets for Phoebe Bridger’s Lost Weekend planetarium experience, so I guess I’m going to have to turn off all the lights in my apartment, find a laser show on YouTube, and blast “Lost Boys” over and over while my cats watch me with intrigue, huh?

Since I have the summer off from teaching, I’ve been trying to write as much as I can. Tried writing in my house and felt so stuck. Went to the library yesterday and today and the words are flowing and I have so much excitement about my wip. This is just to say, libraries are beautiful and rule!

I actually just discovered this essay yesterday and it should 100% be required reading for all emerging writers, imo. I particularly can’t stop thinking about the line “I’m more interested in how there’s another literature possible when people who belong to the status quo challenge it from within.”
