Welp, I did it. I tired out *literally Claude itself* while talking about Babylon 5.
I lie awake, haunted by the ghosts of what should have been. It is the hour of the wolf, but this wolf draws no power from that. I suffer.
I walked on UC Berkeley's campus for the first time ever today. As I did, I felt a ghost of a missed life course through me. Brandeis was a bad fit for me, and I wonder if I had gone someplace where I could have found my people, I would have thrived and not developed the hangups I have.
This is not OK. This is what we're doing while fascism swallows the world and Putin laughs?
The video,
I grow more functional day by day, but do not mistake functional for OK.
I encourage people to read the entire thread, but wanted to quote this so people saw the book title. I often find myself nodding in agreement with Dr. Hicks's posts, and I think that many could benefit from reading this book.
What have psychologists learned about "firming up the self" and reducing that uncertainty? I'll tackle that in another post! This is the COUNTDOWN to preorders for THE PSYCHOLOGY OF SOFTWARE TEAMS on June 23!
I've cried so much in the last two days. The world is darker forever and I don't know how to live within it.
The best of cats, the prince of cats, my little Jeep passed away today. I am ruined.
I napped this evening (collapsed out of exhaustion, really - my cat's doing poorly) and dreamt I was in a fun little tavern. Went outside to where there was a small fire where others were gathered, and I got the sense that I knew them and was appreciated by them. Why couldn't that be my reality?
You don't want justice. You want vengeance against those who traumatized you.
@bskyrad.io How'd you feel about doing Harry's Game from Clannad?
@bskyrad.io "Blueski Radio"? That's...not how I envisioned it being pronounced. Nice track list, though. Absolutely is channeling the SC fog. Wish I were over on that side of the mountains instead of in my apartment on the bay side.
Looking forward to getting me some season tickets!
BREAKING: The PWHL will reach their four-team expansion goal with PWHL San Jose, the final addition ahead of the 2026-27 season, which the league is expected to officially announce on Tuesday. thehockeynews.com/womens/pwhl/... #PWHL
Graf, on why it was important for him to use Pride tape in warm-ups: "Hockey's for everyone. Just wanted to support. The fans were really good. They're showing their support and showing their support for us too. It was a great night."
I don't think any of this is fixable anymore. Unfortunately, that will probably please the accelerationists, who deserve not one mote of pleasure from any of this.
Here's a regular white guy (literally "Chad") not a protester. because, "It seemed pointless, or just a way for people to expiate their sense of guilt." Chad witnessed something shattering. And, that all changed in a moment. Excellent article!
The Atlantic Magazine just dropped a tremendous story on the Minnesota Resistance. The author is a war correspondent & sees the echoes of leaderless community empowerment around the globe: www.theatlantic.com/politics/202... (supposed to be a gift link, might not work, it’s in Apple News, too.)
Last night of FC was better. The ballroom panel was quite lovely (though I am still bitter that con policies essentially prevented me from fursuiting for it) and I played a nice game of Red Dragon Inn in the gaming room.
Am at Further Confusion. Not having fun yet. :-/ But my fun comes in different ways than other furs, and it has been a long time since I trod the halls of the San Jose Convention Center.
Not to be stereotypical, but I just ate a big dish of beef chow mein.
2025 is done. Good riddance. 2026 is going to be challenging, also. Even if I will be gainfully employed again, there's a lot of things I am afraid of on that horizon. Some that may happen, and some that may never happen again. And this world still feels so alien to me.
Seems like there's more people crying election fraud about 2024 in the last few days. This worries me - both because I believe it's a spike in the spread of misinformation from abroad and because people, either due to trauma or desperation, are buying it. That undermines *us*, not the fascists.
Statement Re: OU Discrimination Investigation Today, my client, Mel Curth, submitted her appeal of the University's Institutional Equity Office finding that she engaged in arbitrary and capricious grading of a student's assignment in violation of that student's religious liberty.
This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up. I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.
