Arizona and Virginia, both of which are governed by Democrats, are ending Medicaid coverage of care for trans youth, Transitics has learned. The bans, which go into effect on October 13th, mark the most significant Democratic capitulation to Trump's anti-trans demands yet. Cowards.

Democrat-led Arizona, Virginia Quietly End Medicaid Coverage of Care for Trans Youth, Acquiescing to Trump Demands

The policy changes, which go into effect on October 13th, see Arizona and Virginia join Kansas as states where Democrats have needlessly opted to restrict Medicaid coverage of gender-affirming care.

The court is basically saying that knowledge of the victim being trans is potentially exculpatory for a self defense legal claim. This is explicitly greenlighting the panic defense and saying a victims trans status might excuse a murder.

32 states permit child marriage. More states allow child marriage and minors to drink alcohol than those that allow access to hormones prescribed by their doctor with the support of their parents. None of it is logical and it's entirely based on moral panic.

A plague case has been linked to a lab worker’s death in Siberia. Nearly 200 people are now under observation after the lab worker died from plague. Because apparently “deadly plague at a Russian lab” wasn’t ominous enough. www.themoscowtimes.com/2026/10/02/n...

Cis people do not understand how much trans people's rights have regressed in just 5 years. 5 years ago, there were none of these restrictions. 19 states banned legal recognition 21 states have bathroom bans 8 states ban gender marker changes on DLs 25 ban gender affirming care for trans youth

"Do you remember the house on Hillside Street, how its emptiness felt like a portal? How it sagged and bowed and leaned, as if it were melting into the overgrowth? How one-bys held up the front porch awning, salvaged from interior walls ripped open for copper, the lath left dangling?"

I have seen roughly 487 "teenage girl comes of age over a summer spent at her family's waterside vacation home" YA dramas over the past few years. Sterling Point, from My Old Ass director Megan Park, is easily the best of them

‘Sterling Point’ Review: Amazon’s Summertime YA Drama Brims with Heart, Humor and Personality

Hailing from Megan Park ('My Old Ass') and executive producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz ('The O.C.'), the series follows a teenager who inherits a Canadian island from her late grandfather.

Sterling Point illustrates a wonderful chosen family, relatable 🏳️‍🌈 characters. The straight love story & 🏳️‍🌈love story enhance/enlarge each respectively as the family mystery unfolds. Heartstopper/Sort Of vibes in terms of modeling being a good human being.

Enjoyed this. Why was this hated? I dug the aesthetics: dystopian port cities, Krypton, red sun planets. Perhaps the slavers/bad guys were bit derivative (Firefly, Discovery, etc) but whatever. If you read DC comics in the 80s/90s that were set in space you'll find much to appreciate.
