Seattle. Lover of animals, music, cooking, arts & culture, and statistics & economics. Trying to see as much of the world as possible while I'm still here.

I 💚 my cats. They are affectionate & enjoy spending time w/ me. Bjorn is a lap cat & Aloysius is a belly slut. They were born 3/15/24, but I only realized in the last few months that they aren't that bright. They aren't idiots, but I've realized my cats are kind of iffy on the intelligence scale.

Two cats, a brown tabby and an all black one are lounging on a bed.

David and I got to Reykjavik late. We were SO tired, we checked into our hotel (the same eco-chain we stayed at in Copenhagen) & went to get some dinner. I'm fairly petite, so I don't eat much. Generally we get an appetizer & a main & that feeds 2.

In 2018 my bf (at the time) & I spent 18 days in Scandinavia. Everyone talked about how expensive it was - D & I just said: these are Seattle prices... Then we went to Reykjavik. WOW! #Seattle #Reykjavik #Iceland

The last 5 yrs I lived in DC, I had a crab party every August. It wasn't big, ~12 to 15 people, & that AM I would go down to the docks & buy a bushel of crabs. Then we sat in my friend's backyard and had a feast! 🦀 I wish some of these Italian crabs were easier to get as I'd love to have some 😁

Fun-but-also-depressing fact: blue crabs are an invasive species in Italy, so they’re cheap and enormous and they’re trying to get people to eat more of them

Hey Howie ~ @howiecohen.bsky.social I don't think you follow this gentlemen below, but I think you might want to :) Sometimes when I see his posts I think of you, and now that I'm seeing how extensive his lp collection is, I thought this might interest you. Cheers!

Eleven years ago this week, I moved to Seattle! My friends Nick and Sadie drove me and the two cats, one of whom cried for the whole 2.5 hour drive, from Portland. Even though the job market is brutal here right now - I couldn't have moved to a better and more beautiful place! #Seattle

Three people, 2 woman and a man, are standing in front of a wall, with a river and trees in the background.

Last night I had the opportunity to see Nick Lutsko and the $100K band w/ Randy Steele. Who I learned about from #RealInfowars It was such a joyful, funny, silly, raucous show which made for an amazing evening. I danced for 2.5 hours, laughing the whole time. Boy I needed that!

I'm going to go to this on Sunday. While I'm much more of an indie-rock fan, I 100% want to support this endeavor and hopefully, help to make it sustainable. The Seattle Center is a 45 minute walk from my apartment and I'll get there around 11AM. If anyone else is going - DM me 😁 Cheers!

Some days there are posts that make your whole day - like this one! These also tend to remind me of just how much work some folks put into caring for abandoned/orphaned/hurt wild animals & I'm reminded the world is full of a lot more good & caring people than those who aren't. 🐥 Grateful 💚

From when we arrived to today, we're doing so much better now! So much more robust and active, starting to grow like a weed after a super rough start. (Bonus, hazards of working here include regular bathroom rerouting since sometimes it's bathroom eagles, sometimes it's bathroom cranebabies.)

LOVE THIS! I live in Fremont, on Stone Way and it takes me: 1 hour, 2 buses and a 20 minute walk to get there and it's only 5 miles from my apartment! I usually have a picnic with me, so I end up taking the buses there, but then walk the 5 miles back home b/c walking is quicker...

The city of Seattle and King County Metro are testing out a new, summertime-only bus route to help people better reach Golden Gardens Park without a car.

I know that many of the men wore tan suits in Obama's honor. When I looked at this picture, my first thought was: is Dr. Jill Biden wearing a tan suit too? Honestly, I can't tell if it's "peach" or "tan" but I'm going to allow my imagination to run with this and decide it's tan 😎

A rare scene: Four presidents and their spouses It's not every day a presidential library opens. George W. Bush and Laura Bush joined Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Joe Biden, Jill Biden, Bill Clinton, and Hillary Clinton for the occasion. Donald Trump was not invited.
