Early Years Teacher, RE Subject leader, NATRE Executive member, PhD student, Greenbelt festival volunteer. Enjoys running, gardening and reading. All views my own.

First Monday of the holidays PhD supervision meeting (always a positive experience even when it’s challenging), a little meander around Lincoln with a bit of shopping and then a run later. What about you? Sorry to those of you still teaching, you’re almost there!

A reminder that tonight’s #REchatUK will be held on our facebook page. Starting at 8pm, we will post a series of questions to prompt discussion and sharing of our thoughts, insights and stories that celebrate RE. Hope you can join us. #TeamRE

Who can train to teach RE? 🤔 More people than you think! You don't need to be religious or have a Theology degree. Providers want curious minds from a range of backgrounds. Requirements: An undergraduate degree (usually 2:2+), GCSE Grade 4/C in English & Maths #getintoteaching

NATRE will be attending the Labour & Conservative Party conferences representing the RE Policy Unit and the RE Council . Please help this important work by contacting your MP and encouraging them to talk to us about the importance of high quality RE for all pupils. #TeamRE

One of the best things I have ever done. I have leant so much from my colleagues on the Executive and it’s been a privilege to share my knowledge & experience with others. If you are a Primary RE Subject Leader do consider standing. It’s not just for secondary RE specialists

Today in my PhD supervision meeting I was complimented on my use of a semi colon. I was reminded of my secondary school English teacher commenting on a ‘heinous grammatical error’ when I failed to use semi colons correctly. He’s probably no longer around but “Thank you Mr Kettle for your teaching”!

The panel is one of the things I am looking forward to most. I am hoping it will improve my teaching of Sikhi at KS3 and help me support our school better who teach it at GCSE. #StrictlyRE

Last year’s panel discussion was one of the highlights of #StrictlyRE. This year’s panel will explore authenticity, belonging and challenge from a Sikh perspective and will be a great opportunity to learn more about Sikhi. Don’t miss out. Book now 👉🏼 natre.org.uk/events-courses/strictly-re/
