No general disagreement but forgive a little cynicism about the Morning Star. I took over building their offices in the early nineties. I was amazed anyone had taken the contract on, and sure enough, Glasnost came, Moscow stopped funding them, and they didn't pay us for the work.

If I'd known, I'd have popped in to tell them..... I still wonder what benefit any businesses expected/hoped/dreamt they would get. I switched to consultancy in 2009, and spent 10 years still travelling (much less but still a key part of the job. Then the twin poison of Covid and Brexit finished it

Burns approached Mahmoodi from behind and swung the axe at his neck. He was able to wrestle the weapon away from her before she could strike him again.
It's a truly terrible situation, but I must say the press conference with representatives from across the political spectrum and senior police officers is a sign of how far we've come in 30 years?

James O'Flynn@jamesoflynn.bsky.social · 2mo agoThis is just so horribly grim in so many ways. Maternal health, infant health, cost, staffing. Just in basically every way, it's extremely worrying if caesareans are being implemented when the medical indicators perhaps don't require it. Or, if they are actually medically required, why the increase?

My company used to do Trump's Construction Management. He knows nothing about construction, and less about negotiating. He did learn that you don't try to stiff a well-established Manhattan Construction Company. They tend to know more "people" than you do
Micah@rincewind.run · 2mo agotrump's "skill" in making deals has always been based on one thing: his ability to refuse to honor the deal he just made he'll agree to do something and then just not do it and dare you to impose consequences on him for it if you can actually do that, well
