If you've never heard of it - and many haven't, no doubt - this is a route that's been operated by A2B since 2019, and which provides a round trip to and from Trumpington Park & Ride, via Hauxton, Little Shelford and Harston.

A post jointly authored with Cambridgeshire Sustainable Travel Alliance Bus services across our region could be cut by 38% by 2035, due to rising costs and insufficient public funding. A key reason for the shortfall is Mayor Paul Bristow’s pledge to freeze the Mayoral Council Tax Precept which supports buses. Mayor Paul Bristow and the Combined Authority’s Board can turn this situation around.

Some of these are changes that Stagecoach had originally planned to introduce back in January, but whose introduction was postponed. The changes principally affect those in and around Cambridge, St Ives and St Neots. Most are relatively minor in their impact.

Is anyone paying genuine attention to what the public - and specifically bus users - are saying about the bus network in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough? Seems instead just getting consultants to create a (unpublished?) scoring system to advise what to do with allocated funding? 100% Disappointed 😞

It seems none of the changes that came in to effect (multiple operators) on 2nd of January have made it to Google Maps or Traveline, or anything that uses whatever they get their source data from. That includes routes the Ely changes ended, the 32 that changed times, the 31 that ended for new X31.

A choice of timetables (but which one is correct?) It's not unusual for visitors to Cambridge - and residents too - to want to visit Ely. And, for various reasons, they might prefer to do this by bus. Perhaps because of where they're starting from in Cambridge, or the distance from Ely railway…

Not once has the fact that one of the routes covers around 20 bus stops that the alternative "duplicate route" doesn't cover, nor that it doesn't go to the same place (19A route). But of course, CPCA may have found that detail if they'd have done the resident engagement that the Framework mentions.

CPCA have voted to scrap two bus routes without resident engagement. Numbers in a report enough to base a decision on, not asking any of the passengers that use the services or those who don't use them but could do. Transport committee had told the Board there should be resident engagement.

I have been working with Stagecoach for over a year to get the 4 to stop at Bourn Quarter so people don’t have to walk 10-20 minutes down a pitch black access road without a pavement. All signed off, 140 day notice period completed, and they’ve just pulled the plug with no notice at all. Not happy.

Will be interesting to see the uptake on what should ideally be a train service but for Beeching.
